In my wife's gc card he sex is incorrectly stated as "Male". :)
How do we get this corrected. The uscis website asks to fill-up an I-90 form and return the card, with backup documents.
Do I need some lawyer's help on this ..

any suggestion advice would be appreciated.

that's easy have her undergo "sex change"
and remarry her in state where same sex marriage is legal..

hmm.. by the way, are you sure she/he is not a transvestite !

uwaaahhh..

You do not need a lawyer unless you have money to throw away. Fill the forms, have your wife write a detailed letter telling USCIS that she is a woman. enclose a copy of her birth certificate, pictures one with the two of you and your kids if you have any. You can also add any correspondence addressed to you the husband from USCIS in the envelope. Make sure she details it in the letter.Have a notary republic endorse the letter, put the green card in it and send it back. The sooner you send it back the faster it will be returned. You do not need to send in any fees as this error was Uscis's.

Dont forget to send a copy of the BC. There have been incidences where USCIS has issues RFE to prove the gender of the person. Sounds strange, but it has happened.

Send BC, Passport Biographic pages to prove DOB, name and Gender

Man that really sucks. I feel for you. USCIS is filled with a bunch of maroons.

Now I've got a whole new thing to worry about - what if my GC, if I ever get it, says I'm a female when I'm actually a dude?!?!?! I can't handle this added pressure!!!

It's so easy to name call isn't it? Do you know how many green cards are issued daily? errors will occur so we deal with them. My name was spelled wrong but I did not curse anyone.

They spell names wrong too - those buffoons. Yet another reason for anxiety...
