One of my H4 dependant is coming back to US . There is a valid visa upto 2010 with I 797 paper.
Is it possible that during entry to US, they will ask for AP doc and stamp it.
In case they do, does it affect my H1. Currently I am on H1, EAD , AP approved, I 485 pending.
Advice or comment will be hgihly appreciated.

If H4 visa is valid, then should be no problem.

Nope. Ask your dependent to give only the H4 (Passport stamp & I797) to the immigration officer. Keep the AP separately and use it only if the officer deny entry with the H4 for some reason.

we have our H status and AP and travelled a lot.. Then turns out, the AP never get execrised when we have our AP even we present everything at the POE. The officers kept saying H valid Visa is good enough and return the AP paper to us without even look at it.
Now, our H status expired and will use an AP to travel... we will see what it will come out...
