How long does it take to get US Tourist Visa in India ???

Hi!

I am waiting for my PR visa and expecting it any time now. But unfortunately I have to go back to India in a few days.
I have to get a US tourist Visa now to come back here and get the Canadian visa.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a visitor visa for US from India? Also at the interview is it ok to tell that I need the visa to come and get my Canadian visa?

Anyone has any experience in ths matter or any advise? I will really appreciate any help.
I have gone through a lot to get this PR and don't want to lose it due to just some technicalities at this final stage.

That's a risky gamble ... if the visa officer finds out that you are going to US for Canadian PR formalities, you may not get the visa.

This is very risky, if you do this you may lose your ability to come back here to the US. Better not to take a chance and don't go to India.

Thanks, but how can I stay here since my Visa and I-94 both are expiring and I am on a L1 visa, and company is not extending it. So should I say that I just want to visit the US for pleasure when I apply for the tourist visa? Will that help?
Thanks again in advance!

If you go back to India change to consular processing because You will not be given a tourist visa with a pending immigrant visa. No way, no how.
