Sorry guys, I have to ask this question here as no none responded on the AP forum. Hope someone will chimein here.
How much time does it take to get AP approval? I filed for it on 12/28/09. Thanks.

to ITGreen:
Depends on what method you filed (PAPER or EFILE). I did a efile on 18th Jan 2010, approved on 1st Feb 2010 and received AP in hand on 6th Feb 2010. -- Texas Service Center

Yes, I efiled on 18th Jan 2010. Mailed all supporting documents (2 photos, efile receipt printed from online, copy of 485 receipt, current AP, Photo identification (Driver's license copy) next day and AP got approved in 10 days and received in hand in 2 weeks

I think yours is renewal. What about brand new AP. My notice date is 01/04/2010 and finger printing happened on 01/27. No update nothing yet.

To triviagal,
I did paper file. And mailed all the supporting docs. USCIS responded in mid Jan saying "proper file category not selected". It was a mistake on their part. I responded claiming that there wasn't anything missing.
So, not sure if that would add up to the delay. I wonder how much the delay would be. I have an urgent req to travel to my home country.

Wow, 2 weeks? That is awesome! When I talked to my lawyer today about wanting to file renewal (AP already expired last year) and wanting to travel in May (just under 3 months from now), he said it cannot be done under 3 months. How common is such quick turnover?
Can anyone tell me whether it might be worth our while to e-file for AP in the hopes it gets approved before May, and if it does not, can we then travel on H-1B instead? Or would that somehow jeopardize the GC process?

to Sorita:
I renewed my AP (Expired on October 2009) through lawyer on Dec 15th 2009 (Paper File) and I received the approval email on Jan 15 th 2010. I received the approved AP document on Jan 22nd 2010.
