I renewed my EAD based on C9 category on Dec 1 of 2017, I got job offer and need to have the card before July, based on current TSC processing timeline, it is very risky that I probably can't get the card in time. What should I do? Can I expedite my case since I have a job offer waiting for the card to be approved?

I'm on a similar situation but not changing employer tho. It's my understanding that the I-797C Notice of action receipt + your Expired EAD card will allow you to legally work up to 180 days while the EAD it's being processed.

Your understanding is correct, however, my job starts on July which is beyond 180 days automatic extension. I still physically need the new EAD card to work.

Have you checked the Processing times for the service center handling your case? My case number won't work so I called USCIS and talked to an office who told me my service center (Nebraska) is about one month delayed which matches with what the website (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayI...).

I've sent my renewal app on October 16th and it was received on the 18th 2017, and Nebraska is currently processing cases as of September 1 2017 which means my case should be processed either February or March, hopefully.

You could check the timing for yours.

Hope it helps and good luck!

For TSC, it shows current processing time for C9 is Sep 1, does that mean I still need 3 months since my app date is Dec 1. And, that is assuming no delays.... Cross fingered

to cdkzk:

According to what the office said on the phone, that's correct. But it depends on the Service Center processing everything in normal times so it does not get delayed.

I'll keep you posted about my case which was filed on October 2017.

Good luck again!

Best.
