I filed for OPT at the VSC and got approved on October 14. They allegedly mailed my card on October 21, but no card yet in my mail. I've received all my mail from them promptly. Called them today, and the card has not been returned. Do you have any idea how their mailing system works, that is if there's some chance that they update the profile but mail the card much later? Also anybody received the physical card in the mail after more than a month?

You should get the card in one week, when the status of your case became Approval Notice Sent.

Have you received your card? My case is similar. They said the card was mailed to me on October 28, 2008. But I still haven't received it yet.
I called the Customer Service twice and they told me since the mail was not returned to them. They would treat it as a lost document. So if I want to get a new card, I have to apply for a replacement (of a lost EAD) with a fee ($340!!!).
Your experience would be helpful.
