OPT processing at Texas Service Center- how long will it take? |

I applied for post-graduation OPT and received my receipt/SRC number on April 28; I applied for an expedite processing on May 21, and got a letter from TSC in May 28 stating that they received my request to expedite and that the case is currently under review and that I will receive a decision shortly. What does this mean?? It's been a month already, and I am freaking out because I have to start work on June 14. Do you think I will get my EAD card soon?

Hello I have the same situation as that of yours....I have an internship and the start date was on May 26th, as I have not received my OPT they have postoned it to June 8th. I am desperately in need of my OPT.........could you please let me know when did u apply for OPt? can u let me know when ever you get you OPT approved.

I applied for the OPT April 24, and the TSC received on April 26. They sent me a receipt and SRC number on April 28. On May 21, I sent a request to expedite my OPT application, and on May 28 I received a letter saying that they are working on the expedite process and that I will be notified shortly (whatever that means). I am extremely nervous because my internship starts June 14, and I dont want to lose this opportunity. I called the people at Immigration when I expedited the OPT, and they told for F-1 students like me, it would take 30-45 days to get the OPT approved. The card is another story! What is your experience like, CANCAN? Let me know!!

I have the exact same situation but u r far better than me because ur job starts on June 14.
I have already taken two weeks of extension of my joining date and I dont want to take any more extensions. I am worried about the things going on.
I have emailed TSC and they informed that my case was assigned to an officer for review.
Let us hope everything goes fine and we get the OPT card as soon as possible.

Did you email them? can you give me the email address. All I can fins on their website is a phone # and every time I call they wouldn't even ask me my case #, name. All I get is general answers.

I dont think you can email them, ABUD. You need to call the phone number at TSC.

Yes I have emailed them. TSC.Schools@dhs.gov is the email id of TSC.
Try it, I dont think it hurts. It takes some time to get reponse from them but I think it might workout.

My case is different from yours. i am a j2 dependent.
I efiled i765 on 4/28/09
got the receipt and fp notice together on 5/3/09 but I rescheduled my fp appointment that was initilally scheduled for 5/21/09. Big mistake! I did not get any other appointment so far. i thought this will be faster
Sent supporting documents on 5/4/09 . My case was updated on 5/8 online but it still shows received and pending. And my current ead expires on 9/7/09....so I don't know what to do. If I call them they say to wait.

I am sorry I dont know the answer for your question but I thnik you can try calling USCIS and explain your situation and ask them to scheduled an appointment for you or expedited your I 765 form. You can also fax them a letter saying about your situation along with supporting documents.

I got the approval notice in mail but not the physical card. Also I never get any card production ordered message.
Do they normal come separately?

Usually Card Production Ordered message come first. Then you will get the approval notice message in about 2 days. Just wait for the email updates, that's when they send the card out, you should get it end of this week.
I called Customer Service and was told my card was never ordered, now she placed a service request for the card production, which may takes up to 45 days, bahbahbah....sigh....

Hi all.. I need your help in my case status information. I applied for that OPT in April. And I got case received message on April 20th. I didn't receive any information other than that.But I got a job and I have been waiting for that OPT .Can you please tell me if any one got OPT card and what I have to do for getting that soon. Hi there,
I applied for my OPT on March 23, 2009, and got a receipt noted March 27, 2009. On June 11, I called USCIS to request an expedite request. I received a notification on June 18, stating that my case was currently under review, and I should receive a decision within 14 days. On June 23, I checked online, and it said 'card production ordered'. On June 25, current status online stating, 'we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION'. Finally, on June 27, I received my EAD card in the mail.
I do not really know whether my expedite request or my timeline (90 days) that make them processsed my application. All I know is I received my EAD on the 91st day after they received my application and 15th day after my expedite request. Hope this helps and wish you luck!

Hi, I sent a request for an Employment Authorisation Document I765 at the end of March 2009, they sent me a receipt saying it was recived on 14th April. I checked the processing times and it said it will take 90 days to come through and that I couldn't chase it until they had had it for 75 days, which is today (30th June). When I finally got through to someone today they told me i need to have a Biometrics appointment???? Does anyone know what that is? Anyway they said it could take another 45 days to come through???
Has anyone else had this experience, and did it come through in time?? I have a job lined up, but it is on the basis on this document coming through!!??
