my card production was ordered today. My employer needs SSN for me to start working. deadline is 1 week. is there any way of getting SSN without delay.

its all ok,, u will recieve card soon, take the crd same day to local social security office and show thm card ,( thy will tell u tht u will recieve ss card in mail) ok, after tht REQUEST them please give me print out now( wch always has ss number on it) and use tht print out to ur employer.. technically whn u apllied ss? number issued right away .its just s card prinitng takes time,, good luck..

You need your EAD card inorder to apply for a SSN. After applying for the card it takes less than 2 weeks to arrive in the mail. I dont think there is any other way to expedite the processing of the card. You need to speak to your employer, some employers understand the process and let you start work as soon as you have your EAD, then when your SS card arrives then you provide the number to them.

Sorry but to add, even once you get your EAD your name may not be updates in SSN database to get your SSN immd, it might take 7-15 days after you get your EAD , so there is some time delay there but be assured you will get all but it does take little time that we expect
