Hi,
Can someone help me with the L2 EAD process. 10 days back i filed I-765 EAD electronically and yesterday i have received the confirmation receipt notice(I-767, Notice Of Action) from USCIS. Can someone tell me if i have to send the supporting documents or should i wait till i hear from USCIS about the supporting documents. If i have to send the docs, please let me know the checklist. Thanks for the help.

I am in a similar situation and dont really know if I have to send the documents when I filed online or wait for them to call me for biometrics. And how fast do I get a letter asking me to attend the biometrics procedure?

I dont think so we need to send the supporting docs.. When i got my L2 EAD last year through efiling, i did not send supporting docs since they dint ask for. I got biometrics call with in 30 days of the application filing.
One quick questionon efiling. Actually I wanted to apply for a new EAD now and when i tried few days back, i found that Efiling is not working through the website. It gives me error when i select a payment option and try to submit. Any body facing similar problem with Efiling?

And tell me one thing...Are u applying for EAD renewal or for a fresh EAD?
Bcoz i applied a fresh EAD on nov17th and i didn't face any payment problems.What kind of error are u getting?

well for me ,I am still not able to submit the form online. Probably this is happening since december..Once we fill all the details and then select the payment mode by choosing the radio button and then hit the next button, it gives error .This is before we give the paymentment details..So i think it is the problem with their application...
Anyways i have paper filed now ,since i cant wait for the efiling to work....

My EAD is due for renewal in July. Is there a way to e-file for renewal of EAD.
Please post the link to renew the EAD online and any supporting document required for it.

Hi all,Is there any way to cantact USCIS officer directly?I have applied on 1DEc it's been 2 months.My Previous EAD is expired in Dec only.I was on leave but now my employer is not allowing any more leave.if i don't receive any updates i will have to leave job.I have tried expedide the process by putting service request but no use.Only way which i can see is directly talk to Officer.Any Help!

I think you have to wait atleast 90 days to inquire status or expedite.
How ever I am not 100%sure on what basis they expedite EAD, but it is worth a try to make a InfoPass appointment and stop by a local USCIS office in person. You can find details of infopass on main site. Once it is past 90 days, and you still hear no decision when contacted they definitely give better consideration.

when you go the local office with Infopass , put another expedite request along with copy of your job offer letter. Might be that will help in expediting the process.

I received the receipt number on my extension on Dec 31st (paper filed) and my check was encashed on Jan 7th. My old EAD expired on 01/14. My visa is valid till mid 2012.
I have a full-time job and there is no question of taking off until i receive my EAD. Am continuing to work hoping that i will receive my EAD soon.
If my case is not processed for 90 days, can i go to my local processing center and get a interim permit - is this possible.
Any thoughts??

You can take a infopass to the local office and expedite the case if your case is not processed with in time frame.
But i dont think they give a interim EAD anymore. last time i was in the same situation and I was told that they have stopped issuing interim ead since 2006.

Did your case move any further?
I received the receipt notice on Jan 7th and the check ($340.00) was encashed on the same day, after that no news.
I check the application status everyday and its still in the "Initial Review" stage.
What can I do to expedite? This is just frustrating:(

Hi snehakapoor,
No my EAD renewal is still in the processing stage.
I have been working for 5 years. This is my second EAD renewal, first renewal went like a breeze, took less than 40 days.
As for accepting new employment - EAD is must.
But you can apply for jobs, complete the interview and let them know that you will be getting your EAD anytime, give them your receipt number, its upto the employer to offer you the job or not.
I really hope that I get my EAD before my employer realises and asks for my extended EAD copy (!!!)

I just received an email stating that my EAD card has been ordered for production.
I really hope that there shouldnt be any period lag between my old and new EAD, as my old EAD expired on Jan15th.

Congratulations on your EAD approval.You should receive the card in a week. I just had 1 question in your case whether you applied for a renewal of EAD or did you paperfile it as a new application?

I paper filed for L2 EAD renewal - early november, they returned the entire packet stating that i filed the wrong fees (my mistake), then i filed again end november, then i recd the receipt number on Jan 7th - same day my check was encashed.
On Feb 24th, EAD card was sent for production, this time no Biometrics appt!!!

Thats a long period for your ead renewal !!...Which service center did you apply to?
Usual time for renewal is 1.5months. and for a new application, it is 3months.
Mine's not a renewal. its a new application paperfiled... receipt number on Jan7th, and received by uscis on 31stDecember. Still in the Initial Review status. Did you request for any expedite or it came by itself?

I filed at California Service Center. My first renewal in 2008 went thru like a breeze, less than 45 days that too with a biometrics appt.
This time, for some reason, my application took all twists and turns. First my check was returned, then again mid Jan, i received a part of my papers (my husband's supporting docs like his Visa page, his L2 petition approval notice) was returned saying that i filed at a wrong service center.
Once, i called the call center and they didnt have much information. Then i had no choice just to wait and watch.
Even now, am kinda scared that the card should be the correct one and I hope there wont be any gap between my old and new EAD's.

I got my EAD by mail yesterday.
But AS EXPECTED the issue date was wrong - it has 2/19 as the issue date, my old EAD expired on 1/14. I continued to work, in future will there be an issue for the period from 1/14 till 2/19?
If an issue arises, can i argue that my file was pending with USCIS:(
One good thing is EAD is issued till my L2 visa end date (mid 2012) not like my Driving License (for some reason, they renewed it only till my birthday of this yr)

I am on L2 visa and e filed my EAD application on 25th Jan10 . I received my Approval notice on 27th Jan 10 and got my Biometric appointment letter scheduled for 23rd Feb 10. How long does it take after biometrics? There is no status change on the website its still pending on Initial Review since the time i submitted my application.Is there any other way to track the status?
