EAD Paper Filed in Dec - No Receipt |

I paper filed for EAD and AP on December 22. I got the receipt for AP on January 07. However no receipt for AP yet. Even the check for EAD has not been cashed. (USCIS received the docs on December 24.) Anyone in the same boat? Is this normal or should I be calling USCIS?

My documents were received by USCIS (NSC) on 12/30/2009 but no receipt yet. I am checking my mail box everyday!!

Same thing here. Applied for AP & EAD together in 3rd week of Dec. Got the receipt for AP in 1st week of Jan. But check for EAD application is not cashed yet and no information so far.

Same thing happened to me. I sent my application in 2nd week of Dec to Nebraska. Last week, the check for correct amount of $340.00 got returned. Then, couple of days later got the application receipts with the application fees as $0.00.
You should be receiving your receipts soon.

No I filed during the July fiasco. Even I was surprised that they returned the check. I believe there is one other post in the forum that talks about a similar experience.

I called USCIS on Friday (25 days since I mailed the EAD application). The IO said that it may take upto 30 days to receive a receipt. If after 30 days I don't receive a receipt then I should call back. She seemed to be reading this from a standard script. I asked her if she could look up my account using the A#. She said the only way she can check the status is using the EAD receipt number. So I am not sure how she is going to look up my account after 30 days if I still haven't received the receipt

I called customer service last week. They will not check this until the mail has been delivered 30 days.

The receipt date is December's. Although, the Notice date is Jan's.

Given that so many of us haven't received our EAD receipts, it seems like there is some kind of holdup at USCIS. Are you considering sending another application? Its unlikely they would have lost so many applications.

My EAD app, which I applied in the last week of Dec, was returned for incomplete information.
I didn't complete first field - Applying for....
USCIS rightly returned for incomplete information...
resubmitted the same today

Hi, I applied for renewal of EAD last OCT 2009. I have not got my EAD till date.. it still shows "Initial review" .. I have contacted them through email, contacted their service centres over phone, took 2 infopass appt, still no updates.. can anyone tell me how to proceed further?? I have even contacted ombudsman for this.. IS there any other way as how i could get it faster?? I have a job opportunity and am scared if i might lose it.. please help...

I just called USCIS. The IO said she cannot look up the status without the receipt number. So she transfered the call to a higher-up who looked up my account using my A#. She said that they do not see an EAD application in system. She asked me to mail proof of delivery (from the USPS website) to the original mailing address in Mesquite, TX.
I will go ahead and mail the proof though I don't understand how this will help.

The officer told me if i send the duplicate application then I should include a cover letter that you have sent an application before.

I am on J-2. My application was received by USCIS on Dec 22, 2009. Haven't got any interview/biometric appointment letter till now. I applied to Vermont center. I am bit surprised as it's already more than a month by now and my app. is still in initial review stage. Has anyone already got the appointment/ EAD done?

Just now i called USCIS my application is also not in the system,I asked her can i send another application she said no.She asked me to mail USPS proof of delivery.I'm going to mail it today.You can also mail the proof of delivery.

I was asked by IO to mail the copy of delivery confirmation as well. I do not understand how that is going to help if the package had been lost. Sending another application with a cover letter that mentions this previous application and its proof of delivery makes more sense to me. What do you guys think?

Today i sent another application with cover letter,This time i used UPS.You can also send another application.

I am calling them everyday to report missing petitions. Everytime I tell them that there are many more affected. I hope they check their mailroom. I will wait for one more week before I send the new petition.

I just called them up. They escalated my call and the lady i spoke to was really nice. She asked me for my A#. She could not find my new app in the system. She told me to wait one more week and call back.
I asked her if i can file it again and she said i could but i would have to submit the fees again and i might not get the old fees back.
I also asked her if there were any major backlogs or delays for the EAD applications and she said there were none.
I will wait till next week and then resubmit the application.

The AP application I had sent on the same day as the EAD application was approved today. I have heard of cases where USCIS has sent the EAD approval without any receipt. Now that I know that they are processing applications from around the time they received my EAD application, I am hoping (probably over optimistic) that they will send my EAD approval too. If I don't get anything in a week or so from USCIS I will reapply for my EAD.
