My husband and me want to file our EAD and AP. Our I-485 filing date was July 17th 2007. My questions are:
1. Do we need to go through the lawyer for filing the EAD and AP,or can we do it ourselves.
2. Can we either e-file or paper file ?
3. Do we need to pay the filing fees? coz I saw there is a rule that says if you filed youe I-485 before July 30th 2007 you don't need to pay the filing fees.
Please advise Gurus! Thanks in advance for your help.

to cdolon16:
1) you can do it on your own. There are simple instructions to follow. no need of lawyer unless you are too busy to do it and have enough money to throw away.
2) both
3) Yes, if you applied on or before aug 17 2007 you would have used the old filing fees structure. In that case you have to pay again. I checked with my attorney and USCIS (phone call to customer service) last year.

I entered last time in USA using my H1B and recently I swtiched my job and currently working as a full time employee using EAD. My I-485 is pending, my question is what to write for following questions in I-765 to renew my EAD which is going to expire in Aug, 2010:
Question 14: Manner of last Entry ? (I think its H1-B)
Question 15: Current Immigration Status ?
Please let me know your inputs.

Question 14: Manner of last Entry ? (I think its H1-B)
to cd0811:
H1B -- since thats how you entered. Dependents will be H4 or H1 as applicable.
You would say "Parolee" if you used AP.
Question 15: Current Immigration Status ?
AOS - Adjustment of status.
That is your current immigration status since you say you no longer are on H1 and used EAD to file the I-9 with your new job.

Just curious:
So did you change employers? Have you informed USCIS about it ?

to rp485:
Yes, I did changed employer and filed AC 21 to inform USCIS about it.
