South indian name with initial & Mother's name not present on BC - did anybody face problem ?

I think your RFE text talks about parentage which means both parents' names should be specified on the birth certificate. If any one of those is missing, you need to either get a corrected birth certificate with mother's name on it and provide secondary evidence in the form of affidavits. The RFE doesn't talk about affidavits but scores of peopls have provided affidavits and their AOSes have been approved after providing affidavits. The RFE text doesn;t specifically points out if the mother's name is missing but rather in general terms like parentage or poof of birth. When I got RFE on my spouse's AOS, we wondered why we got it and then looking closely at her birth certificate, realized that her mother's name was missing. We were able to get a corrected birth certificate along with affidavits and submitted it. her AOS was approved shorty after that. I would recommend writing a cover letter briefly summarizing what are you submitting in support of your RFE response , provide your phone number, fax( if available) in case CIS wants to contact you if they have any further questions etc.
