| Do I need a passport to travel to Hawaii from California? |

My lawyer once advised me to always carry passport and H1 approval/ext notice whenever I am travelling through the domestic airports. My job required frequent travel at that time. I mostly followed his advise but sometimes I did not carry the passport, though I always carried State issued D/L.
The advantage I found by carrying the passport is if there is any hiccup of some sort (TSA or whatever), then you are saved from any unnecessary hassles of justifying your status. Like others have suggested above it is a peace of mind. |
