Obviously this IO you saw either was having a bad day OR she just didn't want to tell you. They can infer that you have gone thru or there might be a problem. She just didn't want to do her job! The Freedom of Information Act lets you take a look at your complete file. There is a special form you can fill out to do this at your local field office. Usually your lawyer does this for you. Plus you can pay your lawyer to get their own security checks done. They do this for many family based petitions prior to submitting applications. I say this only to show you other options.
I would get another Infopass appointment and try again. If you find the same thing happens request the manager there and then.
