VISA office queried about HEC (Higher Education Commission of Pakistan) attestation. Probably High Commission Islamabad did not send them the report on time, however I sent them the scanned coppy of courier slip and High Commission's envelope they returned my documents in. I also called Islamabad High Commission today and got the issue resolved on Phone.

Reference:
Australian High Commission, Islamabad Number: 0518355500
Ask Operator to get you to migration Section.

DesperateToGo,
I'm also from Pakistan and applied for GSM175 under computing professional (C# 2231-79) from USA. I think 2231-79 is NOT under CSL, can you confirm? Also today I've also received an email from visa officer requesting to get my degrees attest by HEC. I'm thinking of sending my original degrees back home to my father with an authorized letter in his name so he can submit them on my behalf OR shall i send them directly to HEC? Also DIAC instructed me this:

The Australian High Commission will collect the verification results and the appropriately
endorsed original qualification certificates from the HEC. The verification results will not be
accepted unless they are collected in this manner. If your qualification is determined by the HEC
to be genuine, the Australian High Commission will return the endorsed qualification
documentation directly to you by mail, and will advise this office of the verification result.
Please do not contact the Australian High Commission regarding the results of the qualification
verification, as they are not able to provide you with any information relating to the results.

I think in my case DIAC will pickup docs from HEC instead of HEC sending to DIAC. Am I right?

never mind, I got my answer for CSL on DIAC website:
Q19 I am a Computing Professional with a specialisation on the Migration Occupation in Demand List (MODL), how am I affected?
Ans: Only Computing Professionals who have a specialisation listed on the MODL are eligible for priority processing under CSL

The process is quite simple, visit http://beta.hec.gov.pk/InsideHEC/Divisions/QALI/DegreeAttestationEquivalence/DegreeAttestationServices/Pages/Default.aspx and fill in the form (please don't forget to include photocopies attestation besides original one). Generate the receipt, send it out to someone back Pakistan. They need to visit Gerrys office at Shahra-e-Faisal Karachi along with printout of HEC receipt (generated by you online). Also don't forget to write a covering letter to HEC advising them to send results to AHC (Australian High Commission), Islamabad. AHC instead of DAIC will pickup the docs form HEC counter reserved for AHC. PAYMENT: Gerrys would accept cash payment on the counter.

Wish you best, should you have any queries please don't hesitate to write.

Hi DesperateToGo,

After I submitted my degrees for attestation to HEC Islamabad, HEC completed their processing pretty fast and informed AHC Islamabad around mid of December. Now it's been a month and still AHC has not picked up my results from HEC. Is there something else I need to do? I did sent an inquiry using DAIC online form and they said that they will get back to me in 5 business days.

Thanks

Hi Fahad,

Great News! , HEC - AHC link is the most time consuming, it took my documents over a month to reach back AHC. I have been talking to AHC people every alternate day, the primary reason they cite is the security conditions in ISL. AHC doesn't even send local Pakistani people to HEC if their is some security fear. There is no other way except to wait!!!. Get AHC number from website, talk to them early in the morning (9:00 am PST)
Ask operator to get you to Mr. Ali in migration section.

Best wishes,

DTG.

That is right it is time consuming, for me its been 75 days now since I was requested to provide this. My father just called me while he was with an officer at HEC. His name is Gohar and he is very helping, i think he is the head, he said he has called AHC many times to inform them but nothing happened, so i guess i'd just have to wait. the good thing is my father brought a copy of the verification of documents and i just got them by email, i'll fwd these to DIAC as well. thanks for your reply DTG. send me your email address at [email protected] to keep in touch

Hi DTG,

Thanks for the phone number for AHC, I just spoke with them and yes you were right they are again having some security fears in ISD and they said they will probably will go by the end of month to HEC. I feel very sad on the current situation of our country. may Allah protect everyone.

@ DesperateToGo:Better! I''ve applied for that of Canada (September 2009) and it takes too much years. So I just discovered this Australian's and it is quite faster, so I will do my IETLS on 20 Feb,2010. Am qualified but my problems are I don't want to use an agent, how to pay (one person, just me for now), I don't even know the amount. When I filed for that of Canada I paid 550CAD for the initial assessment (Nova Scotia which hasn't said a thing since then) via a pal who is in Canada. So now all I want is to get started and it is the Aussies that will have me.

@ DesperateTOGO, one of my cousins is an architect and which is among the jobs covered by MODL.So is she gonna go pre-assessed? By ACS? Am 35 and has worked in an internet cafe since 2001,done all stuff of works (but programming) from networking computers to managing biller database, if I don't get my Diploma transcript (which involved learning of two programming languages) from my local university,do you think I won't make it at ACS? Because to get that transcript may take up to 3 months, a valuable time loss. However, I have letter of program completion and certificate for the program but no transcript yet.

@ DesperateTOGO, pls do not tell only BSC holders are qualified. I got Diploma in Computer Science with knowledge of Visual Basic and have worked for nearly 9 years. Won't that qualify me from ACS? They are saying Networking experience and some other skills won't be considered. What exactly do they want. Please help talk with me, so that I don't waste time and resources and concentrate on Canadian's.Recently you have not been telling me a thing-I hope you're okay. Or have you traveled to Australia?

hey D2G,

Looks like AHC have picked up my results from HEC because my original degree has been return to my parents which has HEC verification stamp on it. Could you pls tell me how long does it take after this process to get a request for medicals and police clearance from DIAC?

ferdinand,

bro you're asking way too many basic questions, you need to read lots of material from ACS's website, that will clear all of your doubts. better yet just call them and ask them all the questions you have. also about the fee, just go to DIAC website and read the whole skill migration process inc the fee section, dont be lazy and post all the questions here, get off your ass and do some research urself

@ Fahad77, thanks much better now. All I need now is encouragement. I just got my Canadian immigration PR first letter processing letter today. Am happy that side has started moving on. I know I give folks info and advice when they ask. It is always the best when you get them from folks who have passed through the steps one is in. Am looking at knowing more on State sponsored 176. I will really want something coming up in 15months, so that I can leave Nigeria. May be this time, use an agent. What do you think and am expecting your responses. Although ACS wrote me today that someone in Australia can pay the initial assessment money (400AUD).

AOA

I am a new applicant and wants to apply for Australia GSM 176 VISA from Karachi. I am not sured about the payment of DIAC Fees. In currency converter it is telling about the bank draft of said amount in PKR to Australian High Commission Islamabad. I am confuse where to sent that original bank draft.

1. Either with my application to DIAC, Skilled Processing Center Adelaid.
or
to Australia High Commission-Islamabad. And if this is the case then what they will give me as a proof and what will the procedure. Do I need to send all the documents?

Please guys guide me about the payment procedure step by step. I am a resident of Karachi.

Hi D2G,

Hope you're doing well. Do you remember where your medicals were sent by your doctor? To Aus Embassy in your country or directly to Adelaide or some where else? I just got mine done and results were sent to Aus Embassy here in USA by my doc. Just wanted to check if that is correct. Thanks

Help Needed!

In my case I attested the original and photocopy of my Bachelors degree from HEC.

My original degree is already attested from HEC. And while applying I sent DIAC the attested photocopy. But inspite of that they have requested me to attest my degree from HEC so that it can be collected by AHC.

Does anyone know how to deposit an already attested document at HEC? Im living in Dubai and wont be visiting Pakistan anytime soon! :(

Hi Fastos7,

As for I recall, AHC and DAIC would not accept the dcouments sent to them by applicants. AHC sends their runners/ representatives to HEC for collecting the documents, perhaps to verify the originality of the documents.

My documents were stuck for more than two months at HEC, since AHC could not send their people due to law and order situation in Islamabad. I offered them to travel to Islamabad and pick documents from HEC to deliver to AHC, they declined straight away.

In conclusion, I can advise that even if your documents are verified, you need to send them to HEC to be picked up by AHC.

Best of luck with rest of the process,

Regards,

Former D2G.
