Hi ray,

The last time I faxed my query last month (sept), they emailed me and informed me that the latest docs I sent last April this year including IELTS .. "äwaiting for the officer to review, a response will be mailed in an earliest opportunity "...... i hope I dont get rejected.. hihi.. do you have idea what passing park they have in IELTS?

Have a nice day!

Hmmm.. patience is a virtue... hihi...

Hi Ney Bar,

The passing marks in IELTS would depend on how many points you need for English. So if you need 16 points to get 67 points, you would need to have 7 in all 4 areas (listening, reading, writing, speaking). If you need less points, then you would need less in IELTS score.

This is very stressful. Hope we all hear good news soon.

Hi Neybar

Why did they ask you for the IELTS? Did you submit it before their request? And , was your marks accepted for your case?

Good luck

Hi MF!
From the time I submitted all the requirements, I never intended to take ILETS coz I thaught they will never ask me to take it or submit it. I thought they would rather consider my proof of english thru my written explanation and etc. That was 3 yrs ago. Then when they finally started contacting me for updates, they required me to take IELTS, and the main reason is bec it's one of the factors they need to consider to add it in your points. If you failed to give them your IELTS then they might or rather they will refuse your application. Aside from having a low bandscore on your IELTS. Yeah I think they accepted my band score if not they might not ask me to take the medicals.. Here take a look at this link.. wait... i'll check out the link and get back again...
Good luck

Thanx for your prompt reply.

In fact, i took the exam and sent it to them less than 2 years ago and got more than the required marks. But, will they ask me to re-do the test? By the way, i sent my updated last september including the rest of the required doc.

Welcome MF,
Oh IELTS validity is good for 1 year. But since you had submitted it 2 yrs ago, I am not sure if they will ask you again to take it. They had probably assigned points for you already if the Immigation Officer started reviewing your application. If not hmmm.. no idea...
BTW, did they ask you to update your docs or just sent it as you want. If they did ask you and they did not ask you or tick or mention to you to take IELTS from that letter then I think there's nothing to worry..
Good year for all of us!

I was asked to sent the an update; pcc and bank statement and other stuff. They stated that no need to submit the documents that had been already submitted.

Hi neybar and MF,
CIC does not request for an IELTS re-test. As long as the result was submitted within its validity period.
If one's application is denied because of the points assigned in one's language proficiency per the IELTS exam result, then one can do a re-test and re-submit the result. But this is after filing for a reconsideration of one's application.

P.S.
neybar, Good luck on your medical. Say a prayer before you undergo the medical.

Hi peegee!
Glad to hear from you again! Yes I will...thanks! And i'm still waiting for their (CHC) reply re my changed name/ changed passport following my hubby's surname. They sent me medical forms from my old passport's name.. so, recently I faxed them my new passport and I have no idea till now if I can go take the medicals now.. it is written in the note from their letter attached that it IS imperative that the name in the passport and the forms are EXACTLY the same..

hope they'll reply soon.. its been 3 weeks since I sent them the fax..
anxious me... neybar!

Hi again, neybar,
It's good to hear that you are finally proceeding with your medical. We had a similar issue with the medical form for one of my son. The birth date is wrong. We sent CIC an email and they sent us a new and corrected form (after some time). However, we were asked to proceed with our medical exams just the same. We just had to return to the doctor to submit the new form. The old and new forms will be submitted together by the doctor.
Good luck!

P.S.
Where will you take your medical?

Hi peegee.. oh! I see.. Im happy for you and your family too! My husband took his medical at Habib in Riyadh.. me and my duaghter were done yesterday at Nationwide, Makati. It took us 3 hours to finish that incudes pages of forms.. which took me some time to finish.. They said that in 2 weeks if there are no problems, they'll send it to CHC london.. thru courrier.. DHL.. But my husband in Riyadh, when he took his medical, after 3 days, Habib sent it to CHC London, it was a quick one for him.. You can also get the tracking number from the clinic so you'll know if it's been delivered at the embassy. Im praying our medical results are good and normal..
Have a great day!

hi neybar,
i posted a question but apparently it did not get through. anyway, i just received an email requesting our passport. i have a few questions though:
1. in the email it indicated an "address label" but is not in the email attachment (pdf file). did you have a similar email?
2. cic mentioned that passports be submitted to PHEP PROCESSING but no specific address is mentioned. did you receive a similar message? if yes, what address did you use?
i would appreciate your answers.

Hi peegee,

Yes yes, we have the same instructions and thru email too.. Just make or print your own address label ( with your name and address )and paste it an 8.5 by 12 envelop at the center.. then enclose it in another mail envelop where you will put all the requirements they ask you to submit including that envelop with your own address label and send it to the address PHEP PROCESSING , Candian High Commission, Immig and Med Service Div 38 Grosvenor St London W1K 4AA UK...I guess they'll return the passports to you using that envelop that you'll enclose.... I think Phep processing is one depertment that's responsible for this docs... I'm still waiting for our passports to come back.. hopefully this week or next... HAve a great day!

And pee gee there's this statement in the pdf that says .. "pls use the address label included with this letter..." but since we received it thru email..we were just instructed to address it at Phep processing at Gorsvenor instead... I was confused too when I received this email... God bless!

Thanks peegee.. i'm starting to sort some of our things so it will be easy to pack them when it's ready.. i'm actually busier with preparing for the national exam that I have to write in July than some other things... hihi.. my friend offered her place for us to stay, in scarborough, ON, it's near the city of Toronto but away from the city as she describes it.. which I think is better.. fortunately she is kind enough that she wont let us pay any rental fee unless we become stable or both of us works already.. it's gonna be a great challenge for all of us in the beginning! But God will always guide us! When do you plan to leave? and where?

hi neybar, its me again..hope you wont mind me asking....since im on the status of waiting for my documents to be requested..i just want to ask if i should have submitted my ielts results from the time i have filed my application? (aor received july 2007)will it have a negative effect on my application?thanks a lot

Hi liannedxb! CIC strongly advises that you prove the results of your language test if Enlish/Frengch is not your first language. Writen explanations/submissions are only recommended for applicants whose first langauge is English.. therefore you need to take the IELTS to obtain a 24 mark ( with french ) but in your case 16 maximum mark to include in the passng mark of 67. In my own experience when I submitted my application the first time, I did not give them and did not take IELTS. Only until they ask me to take it 2 years after sumbitting my app, during the follow up/ update time. Dont worry, they will not just reject your application in an instant bec of that, they will give you a chance to take IELTs exam.. you can wait for their response or you can take IELTS now and pass the result to CIC... God bless

hi neybar, happy to hear that you are still keeping your self busy. it is also good that you will already have a place to stay when et there. We are still on the lookout for a place although I have already communicated with some persons I know first hand. Our traget date is 2nd week of August and intended location is Calgary, Alberta. Good luck on your national exam. Are you in the medical field and this exam is for you to be able to practice your profession in Canada?
Cheers!

Hi peegee.. thanks..I have cousins and friends in Calgary, and I saw some of their pics.. it's a nice and quiet place in deed.. and the cost of living is lower than ON.. Yes, I am in the medical field (3143)and I pray I could pass so I could practice my profession I earned for years.. It's good though that my profession need no further formal studies before practicing in Canada.. just need an educ assessment/eligibility and then write the exam... I will try my best to pass... if it's God's will!

i'll start the query now for i'll be receiving the 90day update letter soon...i have some queries about the following documents:
1. educational information
-how would they want the documents be presented?im confused about the requirement for secondary school(10 standard) and high secondary school(12 standard).what specific documents would they require?(elementary and high school diploma?report cards?)Do they need authentication for these?(dfa?ched?etc?....my Bachelor degree has been authenticated)
2. employment information
-Should i provide ALL of the following:
contract letters?pay slips?tax records? what if they're not available?
-do they need to be authenticated?for my work experiences are here in dubai
and in general: should all documents be notarized?

thanks in advance...and thanks for being there..i know you're busy preparing etc..but still you're there....thanks

Hi liannedxb.. during the time we submitted our application(2005), we already included all our educational and employement documents... So as far as I remember, I submitted notarized college diploma, college transcript of record (which are originals and sealed with the university envelop, as they required). I did not submit any elem or high school educ docs.. unless they ask you..Im not sure about the difference of secondary and high secondary school of 10 and 12 standard, no idea..Regarding employment info, yes provide all documents about your current and previous employment, including reference letters, job description, employment cert, contrcts.. tax records are not necessary I think, well unless they ask you to. And you can't show any tax doc if you worked in the Gulf right?.. :) Yes, all photocopies should be notarized.. mine I did it here in the Phil coz its cheaper.. hihi...

26 Mar 2009 #55
thanks for the answers... my college diploma and transcript are already authenticated my dfa with a red ribbon thing... but they are not sealed in my university envelope...so does that mean i have to request new original transcript of records and ask them to be sealed?and is it the same for my diploma?
so sorry for all the questions....i know your busy...hehehe..i see you as my elder sister thoroughly guiding me...(by the way im only 25..hehhehe but i know age is not an excuse for ignorance hahahaha..) regards to your family...thanks again

peegee check out this thread.... http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=537389&highlight=B4+forms ... B4E is a continuation of B4A.. so B4A is the first/main page.. if you have goods to follow later after you arrive you have to accomplish another set of B4A form... if not then you just need one page of B4A then fill up B4E form.. so, yes you'll use both but it's just like B4E is page 2 of B4A... pls correct me if i'm wrong as soon as you check out the thread... hihi.. coz I have not done mine yet... wake up call neybar!!! time is runnin out!!! hihi...
