My timeline is similar to urs. My file was transferred to NY Office on 8 Dec 2009. Today MY ECAS Status changed to IN PROCES, it says we have reveiwed your application. We started processing on 11 Jan 2009.

Btw I sent my application in last week of dec to nova scotia and I received AOR from NS on 21 Jan. SO I think your application should get into process by Feb mid!! that's estimation (based on the trend)

NY office sent me an email as below.

'The application been positively selected and a letter advising of the pending documents and/ or requirements wa will be sent to you within the next 10 business days. '

Not sure if its a Medicals request or request for some other documents/IELTS.

I am expecting this letter sometime next week.

Do you know if anyone got similar email before? Do you have any idea if they will ask for any additional documents?

No I havent. Do you think I should write to them inquiry status of my application? What do you think? However, they did indicated in their mail that do not request status within 90 days. Please Suggest

I think you will also receive some communication from them next week. Our timelines are exactly same....I suggest you wait till end of next week and send them an e-mail.

I submitted by application approx around Dec 2009, got the file no on Feb 2009. Received an email that the file has been transferred to NY from Buffalo on Dec 1 via email. I'm pretty sure when I randomly checked my ecas around Mid Feb 2010, it was changed to in process, not sure about the exact date.

Have not heard anything from them after that email. I am kind of worried because, a friend of mine got his transferred to NY on and got the email around Jan 1st 2010. and got his medicals yesterday from NY. He applied under experienced class though. He submiitted his documents only about 4 to 5 months ago.

There are three to four cases like us . All of us our waiting for some communication from NY.

code88, I think we all should expect Medicals/Documents request by the end of next week..Please keep us updated with any progress.

Ecas only says the application was received on Jan 2009, if I click on "In Process" I am totally confused because I am even considering upgrading my application to Experience class as I am eligible for that now. If this actually works, I do not have to re apply for a work permit, which is a nightmare if you work under the same employer. Hope things work out soon for us.

This is what my thread reads:

Code88, They just append the new message to the existing messages..So we need not worry about the 'We have reviewed your application' message..thats an old one..

Lucky, how did you know that they are processing Oct 2009. Because my friend's which got transferred on Jan 2010, got his medicals on around Mid Feb. I have 3 more days for 90 days to get over.

Would emailing them be suggested?

Hey buddies, Im happy to present the news that I got the medicals and interview waiver today. Usually, whenever I look into the post box, I make sure I dont get too curious, so I think its not gonna be there. So I did the same today, and it was there. I was like wow. Lucky, I received it just as you predicted, and Im sure you guys wud receive it before this Friday, as we are in the same timeline. =)

The date was Feb 22, 2010 :) And I just checked my ecas status and guess what? oh my god, it still says we received your application on 2009 when I click "In Process". It changed to "In process" around the mid of Feb though. Before it was just Application received.

I just went and checked my mailbox after seeing code88's message above...I got my Medicals too!...Woo Hoo!!

The letter is dated 25th Feb. They asked me to submit my RPRF fee too along with the Medicals.

Its exactly same like what Code mentioned above. I used to check my mail everyday by not getting too curious..Today I did not check my mailbox at all..My wife was saying we will check it tomorrow morning...I just went and checked after seeing code's message above.

Congratulations to both Lucky and codename! i was thinking my case is similar to yours. I applied to NS in MArch 2009 and to Buffalo in June 2009. My status changed to "In Process" on February 8th. The only difference I see in your applications is that your files were transfered to New York sometime end of last year. Why so? Are you guys not applying under FSW 3 category?

Arandhawa, They transfer some applications to NY and other CHC offices as they have too many applications at Buffalo. Its not in our control.

You should also get your Medicals by around March 10th I believe. Good Luck and keep us updated. Thanks.

Congratulation to both of you! I just got my Medical reques too (dated Feb 22). Mine was trasnferred to LA from Buffalo. What kind of document/letter which stated 'Interview Waiver' as I did not see in mine? Also, they did not ask for RPRF. Did they ask for renewal police report?

Soewitas..They did not ask for Police Cert...They mentioned in the same letter that the Interview is waived and we can also submit the RPRF fee. Please check your letter again..It should be there..I think they use a standard format for everyone.

I also got my medical today....and they also asked me three things
-the PR fees
-pay stubs from last 6 months
-udated letter from the employer confirming offer of permanent employment remains.

Lucky, this is kind of confusing me. I am at work and I didnt check the letter word by word. I cant wait to go home and check it. From what I remember, I saw a link which is supposed to direct us regarding the payment. I didnt even what RPRF was, until I found Request for permenant resident fees, and I kept checking if they mentioned any additional documents on the 1st page. I didnt see any. you dont need to worry about the additional documents ....they asked me for the pay stubs because i didnt give my tax assesment when i filed my case, maybe thats why, but if you guys gave that already they wont ask you for these...

Oh okay, thanks for the responses guys. I will still have to go find if they asked me any additional docs. Another thing that is bothering me is that, how much longer it will take from this stage? To get the pass port request, in terms of NY timelines. My workpermit will expire in the 1st week of June, and I dont know if I should renew it or just wait for the passport request on my PR process. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

well codenme88 my work permit is alsoo valid till july or august( not sure have to check) but i'm not gonna extend it ...lets hope evrythin gets done before the expiry

Based on the trend I observed in the forums, It should take between 4 to 6 months max. 4 months is the best Estimate I think

I did the medicals last saturday and just mailed my fees, medicals and the change of address. Hope to hear from them soon.

I called the Doctor's office. They gave me the tracking number for the shipment. They sent it by First class mail. not even priority mail.
Anyway it should reach Newyork by the end of next week.

Tristansky, I got Medicals 3 months after the file got transferred to NY. It generally takes about 1 to 3 months.

I just received my medical request, they waived my interview, They asked me to submit the requested documents & to submit medicals in 60 days.
but i read that letter carefully & i didn't find any other document they requested except medicals. I think its a standard letter. What was in yours, plz share.

where did you mention your file no. on the back of the draft ??

Shub, yup you gotta send your medical done receipt with the landing fees in the form of the money order. The doctor will take care of sending the actual report with your blood test etc, to Ottawa I guess. If you are in Canada already like I am, the best thing to do is, the doctors procedural receipts are very unclear and vague. You should photocopy your medical forms first page that has your photograph, and then get your doctor seal and signature on that and send it.

Codename88. What happens to the original does the doctor include this first page with rest of the report?

I did not mention any file number on the back of the draft...I sent RPRF+Medicals along with a covering letter. Did they mention anywhere that we should write the file number on the back of the draft?

I think a cover letter should be good.

But it is not a bad idea to write file number and your name on back of the draft.

Swan, yes the original will be collected when you go in for the medical. They would take it with the passport size photograph based on which country you are currently in.

But, be sure to take a photocopy of all of that, or better yet scan it and keep it for record, of everything.

I sent two separate cheques of $455 each...You can send it now before they request. It saves some time. Looks like someone suggested you to do Medicals also before they request. But I do not recommend that. Your status already changed to 'In process', so within one month you should receive your Medicals request.

I will do the same as you send two separate checks. another question is what is the title you wrote on the check? I find out there are several titles people have been used.
Regarding the medical, I have tried all clinics in New York but they donot allow me to get the medical check because they require the original form which send by Visa Office. So, I will wait. If I have a 1 year daughter who live in China right now not US, she needs to get medical check also, what should I do? Do you have any idea or experience about this?

I took certified cheque in the name of 'Receiver General of Canada'.

They say that we can do Medicals at any place. So you may try with the DMP in China.

Codename88, Do we need to send any forms along with the passport? Do we need to send any photos?

Yes Lucky, there is a form, well I wouldn't call it a form. It is just a sheet that asks your address again, file number and at the back side of that sheet, it asks about your eye color, date of birth, height for you and the other applicants.

The 1st and 2nd sheet, are instructions about what need to be sent, Passport with the requirements in it, like blank pages availability in the passport, 4 photographs, 3 in one cover, and single out the other one in a different cover with your name written in the back of it.

The weird thing I noticed is that, they said they will never ship it via a prepaid cover I would provide them, instead they would ship it back with the regular USPS mail, which will have no tracking information. I do not want to be in a situation where I can't locate my passport in transit. I am willing to spend on an USPS return cover, with tracking number, costs me $20 CAD. Any suggestions?

I belive you are located in Canada.

I am not sure if you will be able to avail this option with USPS but express mail is pretty good. otherwise you next best option (infact best option) is to use prepaid fedex envelope. I think for fedex you will have to open an online account.

They clearly mentioned that, no UPS, FEDex, Purloator whatsoever. I have access to buying USPS return cover in Canadapost itself, they sell it. I did that while getting my work permit stamped on my passport.

Code88, Do we need to send our old Indian passport...I got a new passport from India about 2 years back as my old passport was expired. I have not received the passport request yet..Just getting prepared.

You can check with the bank...just take the copy of the cheque to the bank and they will confirm when its cashed.

I dont know about the old Passport, but they don't want a passport that has no pages left. You might as well send it for reference, and put a letter saying I am sending it just for reference and please return it back, in a cover letter or something.

Hmmm.., Generally, once the file gets transferred to NY, 2 to 3 months, you'll get the medicals request, 1 month to 2 months after receiving the medicals, they'd send you the PPR, if nothing in your file is sketchy overall.

Lucky3, how did you send the payment for the RPRF? Was it a bank draft or a certified check? And how were you able to track it? I am asking this because I assumed from your posts, that you sent a bank draft (please correct me if I am wrong), I called up my bank here in the US and they have no idea what a bank draft means, I simply told them I needed to make sure when and if my payment is cashed and they said that I can do the same with a certified check...please enlighten me, I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks!

Bank Draft and Certified Check is one and same thing. Hope it helps.

I read in the other forum that They update the status to Medicals Received after getting all background checks completed.

Naw, I don't think so. They never updated anything to me, I had to email them and tell them that I would really appreciate it if they can update the status as I am being very clueless.

My application was not updated at all, since they received it, a year ago. Just recently they did after my email.

@Lucky3: Yes i'm in canada..and i know that my medicals reached on 17th as i got the tracking number from the doctor and tracked it.

I sent my passport and I saw that they received it. Not sure how much longer they're gonna take to send it back.

Armani....There are no complications...My status got updated to Medicals Received today.so I am expecting the PPR within a week...anytime in next one week...In case of Darcy, it took one week after the ecas got updated. so its just a guesstimate based on other cases.

i understand that the medicals request come via postal mail... but do you know if it comes in regular USPS mail or Fedex / UPS? The reason i ask, is because i will be moving in next 3-4 weeks and can forward all USPS mails to the new address... but courier serivce will not know of my new address and i could miss my medicals request... i'm expecting my medical request anytime soon... even if i inform the NY Consulate of the change in address; im not sure how soon it would get updated in their system.

I sent the passports by post to Newyork office (My case got transferred from Buffalo to Newyork).
Passports reached NY by May 7th. Ecas status updated to Decision Made on 19th/20th May....Received Passports back on 27th May..so it takes almost one month from the time you receive the passport request.
