Hi Topu

Your time line seems very close to mine. Can you tell me if you submitted IELTS? Just thought I'd ask.

Topu

Thanks for your comments, no it is not late. I am studying the material and your comments are very useful. What sort of a topic did you get when you selected your que card?

Someone told me to wait for the Document request letter, and in that if they ask to submit the IELTS then do that. I am following this- hope it does not cause problem for me later. Apparently being in UK we have a greater choice for dates and centres.

Hi Topu,

I've noticed that you've received an update letter is this because you have an AEO or is it just you turn in the queue? Also i'd be interested to know whether you received a 90 or 60 day letter. That long wait will soon be over?!?

Do you have an AEO? I am AOR March 2006, you are very close to my case, I hope you get a chance to reply. When was your letter sent out?

beanie606,
How do you know Topu has an AEO?

Hi beanie606:

I think its just my/our turn in the Q. If you look at the Document requested column of the tracking page, you would discover people receive them more or less contemporary time belt.

My letter tells me to update documents by 90 days.

Im not happy at all, cause I got no money at the bank to show sufficient fund...shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh dont tell CIC

IGS = International Graduate Scheme

MissyDan:
I need practical experience of 36 months in 13 work modules first to become an ACCA member. Only ACCA members can take that advantage. But definitely that is on my shopping list.

Hi Topu,

Glad to hear that you got the document request letter. Could you guide me what exactly it contained. Even though my AOR is 23rd Feb I have not yet received mine till now. If any preparation to be taken for the document checklist please let me know.

Ani: You are right. However, its going to be 2 yrs soon(not before 30th june). Re. Post Education Employment.

Prasant:
You will probably receive it soon.
They are asking for any documents that may have changed since you applied...like employment documents since you applied, updated financial proof, new kids....new police clearance certificate (mind you, in uk it may take several weeks) along with undated IM008 and background declaration and additional family information form.
The letter says to update documents within 90 days or else........its not a letter to be precise...its a dateless notice. It also say I should expect to hear from them within 6months.
Hope these help.

Hey Anita:

You seem very paranoid. Are you like me as well? Can I know more about you? Do you have a phone number? Im happy to discuss and if possible provide you with some peace of mind.

1. IGS is getting 2 yrs this year.

2.The 90 day thing I received is merely a letter. It is just a Notice to what to do next. Just like master asking their servant what to do. Theres no date in it let alone signature. It is telling me to do what I have already done two and some years ago. Other than police certificate, I dont see any meaning of it. Out of frustation, i can tell that we have paid money to receive a service. But what is happening here is we are being played by them like a fish stuck in the hook.

topu

Thanks for your message. Yeah I guess I do sound paranoid. This waiting system of theirs has made me this way. When people have the skills and are desperate to go I can understand why they can't send everyone updates quickly. Hire new staff to look into all 2006 applications and issue visas to go. This way their backlog will clear faster.
I thought may be there is a particualr visa officer that is doing things faster than the others! I am AOR 16 March 2006 maybe it will take another few months to get this update letter. Do you think your case will complete this year?
Ani

Ani:
I understand you applied through Attorney David Cohen. My firm belief is your letter is already with them. While I got only one red tape (CIC), u got two (CIC + Attorney). Both of them are money sucker.

I dont want my case to be finished this year. I want it late. My research shows UK is better than Canada in terms of earning opportunity. However, quality of life is good over there.

Just be patient. When its' time, it would come flooding. Best of luck.
Posted by anita
08 May 2008 #28
You are absolutely right. It probably might be stuck with them. It takes them for ever to reply to e-mails, so I wonder how long it takes them to sort their postal mail!

About the earning power, UK is absolutely the best and I believe it will continue to be the strongest for years to come. I would love to be here, however our main aim in moving to canada is to sort our status out for good. Did you manage to sort out your statement issue. Thanks for your advise, and best of luck to you too
Ani

08 May 2008 #29
Not yet really. But Im trying hard. The only reason I want to move to canada is because of the education of my daughter. Education is crap in UK. You can earn postgrad here just by paying money.
Good luck to you too.

I need your help. Just thought of applying for Police clearence check before update is received, How did you get the UK polic clearence done, this time Uk has changed their procedures. I went to the website http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp or http://www.acpo.police.uk and downloaded the form under ''Police Certificates' however after reading the form it mentions 'Country to be visited: …………………………………… UK Departure date: dd / mm / yyyy. '
.... which confuses me.
This seems like a check for Visiting visa. Has any one from the UK gone through this or knows whether I am at the correct form for Immigration purposes Police checks.

Look forward to your reply

You made me worried. I went to my local police station and told them I need a police clearance certificate. Which is basically a National Computer printout that says No Information Found. We filled out a simple form and paid £10 per application. The officer said it would be with us within 2 to 3 wks. I applied on 23rd of April. Till date nothing received. Is it because of this new form?

I got this info from another member on another forum......the system, ACPO is quicker and more expensive. if however we are still waiting for the 90 day letter it might be worth going for the cheaper option being the 3019b form which seems to now have been updated on

met.police.uk/information/request_forms.htm
This costs £10 per person. ACPO takes a week, the above form takes about 4 weeks processing

How long it will take after Medical?

Harry.

16 Aug 2008 #42
God knows harry. I suppose they would go for background check now to make sure Im not a security threat. In some cases it takes long, in some cases it doesnt. Also depend upon available visa offier. Hopefully people are coming back from summer vacation.

Im not 100% sure but I think they do their own security check by FBI etc....which they call background check. Please dont count on me on this as Im not sure. Whatever it is, dont lose patience now. Believe me, you gonna need it when its time to settle over there in Canada. Did you know that when it would be time to apply for citizenship, its another waiting time like this!?

Hi Topu,
What was your IELTS score? because mine is 5.5, and my total points 68.
do I need to retake IELTS again?

thanks in advance.
Posted by topu
24 Aug 2008 #52
Mine was 8 on every module. Since your total point is 68, I dont think you need to resit. Im sure u know this, but just in case: on every module, If you score over 7, you get 4 points (hence the maximum total is 4 x 4 = 16). visit cic.gc.ca for more information.

Thanks topu

I hope so too!
They should have received the whole set of document by 29 September (Update letter was sent 30 June), I then had to send my partners police clearence which they should have received 13 October. I hope there is no delay.... and I hope I do get medicals. It would be stange to belve it if I do. My lawyer with the first set of documents mentioned extension to send additional docs' (which was police clearence) I hope this does not cause a delay or confusion since we have already now sent the last document too.
