They need another police certificate, because the previous one was expired, I got it about 5 months ago, so i need to get a new one, how about you? which stage are u in now?
I hope we can finsih this things and get PR very soon

My AOR is 17 Mar 2009, did my medicals on 21 Mar 2009 and got my case transfer to NY on 31 Mar 2009... I know it is still too early for me to hear something from NY.. Are you nominated from Alberta under the H1B stream?

Is your file also trf to NY? Did u get the request for RCMp police certificate from NY or from Buffalo.

yes, my file is in NY as well, no they didnt ask the RCMP police certificate, but instead they ask e for my home country police certificate

yes I did sent PCC to NY, it took about 2 months for me to transfer from buffallo to NY

BTW my eCas was only changed until NY received the results from Ottawa... good luck...

noooo :(( and I am getting really crazy with this wait.... Even I requested a new FBI PCC because the one I sent with my initial application is already expired.... I guess next time they check my application they'll notice that is expired and they'll ask for it....

I think my application is in the "forgotten queue" and nobody is looking at it.... :))

What is the best method to send the passport to CIC, although I haven't received their request yet, I do want to think ahead

Hey guess what, I faxed to asked about my status and I found out that CIC haven't received my medical, somehow it was not reaching them, so yesterday I called and went to the clinic and asked again and found out the x-ray was missing. I dont know whose responsibility it is , but now it has been corrected at least, so be careful guys

Yea they will ask you 2 pictures each candidate. I sent the same one that I had earlier used for my other forms as well as medicals :)...same picture format I used throughout the process. For cheap pictures printing look out for my dedicated thread for passport pictures ;)

The long wait is over finally, I received the letter this morning asking for my passport, i guess the 5 e-mails that I sent to CIC worked after all

they asked us not to inquire before 6 weeks has passed, but once after that I sent them e-mail every week because they didn't reply me.
and after about 5 e-mails they ask me to submit the passport, so I guess it worked

Terrible terrible things happened to me!
I contact CIC and they said they sent my passport along with the PR VISA to me on Oct 19 and today is already Dec 9, i am afraid it is lost in the mail, I have no idea what today, i am so nervous now :-(

Yes if they had sent it and it didnt reach you then roll your sleeves and track the passport. Start with the tracking from the Postal Services. Also check for the address that you would have mentioned in the return envelope. You will find it if you are able to track its way back. You should have done it long back ---why such a delay?

Where were you earlier? You should have sent a "Pre-Paid return envelope" with tracking to CIC because if you dont send then they return in ordinary post and I guess you knew about this. Spending another 30-40 bucks would have saved you from this trauma. Anyways go check with the Post Office (local and main), your apartment people(if you live in apartment), neighbours if they received any wrong mail bearing your name etc. Are u in States or Canada ?

Oh no, I missed that totally, beucase I am in Canada and NY is handling my office, I didnt know I can have this option of sending pre-paid envelope

Sorry to hear about your password. I would contact CIC and see what they say for the next step. I feel very bad to hear. After all the long wait and at the end this kind of situation is really frustating. DOn't worry everything will be fine.

saw your message sukh...mimingarz you have to notify cic immediately about your lost passport. then call canada post and ask them if they can try to locate your mail. i once lost something in the mail although they weren't able to retrieve it they sure contact the sender and resend the package again; that is with tracking number though. anyhow you should tell them even so. i was able to have my passport back in less than a month from the time i submitted them to cic so it is really alarming that yours hasn't been there yet. also try to apply for another passport through your country's consulate/embassy here in canada if worst comes to worst at least you have a new passport that you can again submit to cic. don't worry im sure cic will be issuing you another visa upon submission of your new passport. but next time be sure to send it through express post (w/ tracking number) and include a pre-paid self-address express post envelope (be sure to write down the tracking number).

Hi guys, I finally got a reply from CIC NY, they agreed on the fact that my passports and PR VISA are lost in the mail, so I will get a replacement passport and re-send it to them. and definitely I will include a pre-paid self address express post envelope...but look at the bright side, I know I got the approval already

congratulations! :) just to be sure use Fedex instead of Canada Post. make sure to include a prepaid return airway bill when you send your passport to CIC. jot down the tracking number (the one you will send to CIC and the one that will be used when they return the passport to you...it's in the airway bill). ask the fedex guy for assistance. include a letter to CIC telling them to use the pre-paid return airway bill from fedex when returning your passport to you.

I applied in the thirds week of Jan , becuase I needed to go to the embassy in Calgary , I hope to yet the passport from hong kong soon

Got the new passport and was sent to CIC yesterday, I check fedex for the status, will arrive CIC tomorrow early morning, hopefully is a straight road now

Hey guys, so what was the next step? after I received pp back from cic

Inform the CIC that you have sent the Passports to them and ask them about the expected time of dispatch. That way you will have an idea about the timeframe within which you will get the passports back in Edmonton. Also keep checking the tracking number of the return envelope that(I assume) you had already sent for your passports to be returned. So e.g. if the CIC tells you that they will send the passports back in one week then you should check the tracking number of your return service in about that time frame. If you don't see any dispatch/tracking around that time frame, it means that you need to be on top of that case then. I hope its not confusing to you.

CIC confirmed that they have received my passports (the same day as Fedex tracking indicated) now, how long did it take you guys to get back the passport along with VISA?

Not more than 14 days. There is no harm in sending an email to keep on top of everything. Ask them the same question that you asked here:"How long will it take to get back the passport along with VISA"?

hi mimingarz. it will take at least 2 hours because there are other new immigrants scheduled to land just like you. i suggest you come early. it's a first come first serve basis. after landing go straight to the service canada area in canada place and apply for a permanent SIN.
