Hello going2canada,

Have you heard anything from Buffalo yet about AOR/medical?

Thanks!

Hey Sukhminder,
I did call my agent and he said that it'd take about 3 months to get the AOR for AINP. The processing time is about 6 - 8 months (end - end). When did u file your application?

Thanks,
Rajeev

Thanks for the quick response, I see you are pretty knowledgeable in this I have a question, I did apply for my Canadian PR back in Sep 2008 in the Federal Skilled Worker category, but after the new regulations my agent suggested that I apply for AINP which I did in Feb 09, on Mar 03 I received my File Number for my original PR application, now since I already have a file number from CIC does this affect the processing time ? also my company is seriously considering a major layoff of consultants and am afraid am in the list, if I loose my job does it affect the processing ? Please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Rajeev

Hello Rajeev,

Its good that you already have an AOR..next step is Initial Assessment or medicals. The processing time will be the same since you already converted from FSW to AINP. In case of layoff I dotn think that it will impact your CIC processing for AINP....at the most they might ask is a paystub at any point...but other than that I dont think so there will be any issues....just try to keep the H1B Alive...this is just my opinion since I havent reached till that step so I am also not sure.

Cheers!

Hey Rajeev,

Did you get a different AOR or are you having the same as your Federal? The reason I am asking is that people who had Federal AOR have got another one which starts with B and ends with PN

Sukhminder,
I havent received AOR for my Provincial PR Application yet, but I did mention my Federal AOR in the provincial application since I applied in Federal Skilled Worker category earlier. One of my friend who also applied in the Skilled worker got his application returned since his job code doesnt fall in the new critical list, am expecting my application also to be denied since we both applied in the same category. Am not sure what effect this would have in the provincial application. If you have any information regarding this please do let me know. Is there any website where we can check the status of the Alberta application status?

Thanks,
Rajeev.

Rajeev,
I too had 2 concurrent applications, FSW and PNP. In PNP application i mentioned the FSW AOR number when applied for my PNP certificate in August/September 2008. Now I got my AOR for CIC-PNP application on May 5th and FSW still not yet denied, for which I got AOR in July/August 2008. I will request CIC to withdraw my FSW application in next week. good luck. don't worry.

Yes @DespoImmigrant, I had sent Cashiers Cheques for application fee & RPRF, they were encashed with HSBC Bank Buffalo 4 days later. CIC is very efficient when it comes to collecting $$$
