Easy landing in Toronto for landing formality, the immigration was so helpful. Not so many asking question except my address in Edmonton Alberta.

Hello Lourson,

Congratulations on your nomination as a civil engineer. My application NOC is 2131 too, but I have a small confusion that I feel you can clarify by your experience. In the AINP website under the Engineering Occupations Category (different from US Visa Category) it is mentioned that "If the Candidate has engineering credentials and is working in an occupation under NOC 2131, 2132, 2133, 2134, 2141, 2143, 2144, or 2145, the Candidate must provide a “Letter of No Objection” from the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) or demonstrate that they are registered with APEGGA as a foreign licensee"

Did the AINP ask you if you were a licensed PE or "No objection Letter" from APEGGA?

Please share you experience.

Thank you.

Hi KeepMoving,

The AINP didn't ask me if I'am PE here in USA,
and I dont know what is APEGGA.
I think APEGGA is for Engineer already working in Canada.

Lourson,

thanks for the reply. mine started June 30. I already received and done my medicals. just waiting for the Dr to send it now. After medicals, do you have any idea what else they will require. Will Buffalo still ask for work status in the US?

Hi Lourson,
I can't reach buffaloinquiry.com. It says server not found. can you tell us the exact address?
I am also waiting for the next step after medical. If you read the documents you received along with medical forms they said your application will be processed/accessed in order of the application received. Also, check/track when they really received your medical reports.
Hopefully you should get passport request soon.

Are they only asking PCC from your hoe country? where you able to send it to them already? did you send the FBI together with your application to CIC? howlong did it took you to request that?
Posted by LOURSON
13 Nov 2010 #19
@hopeless,
yes they asked my pcc from my home country only and
Right of Permanent Residence Fee which is $490. They did not
request an FBI cause I already submitted along with my CIC Application.
It took me 3 and half mos. to request.

Hi Lorson, Did you get your visa stamped? how much time do they give for landing?
I got my passport request today, have to submit it by May1. Just wondering if visa period is just for 2 or 3 months, I will send it passport towards end of Apr.
thanks!

Hi bobinus, congrats for your passport request.
I did not receive yet my passport visa from buffalo, I sent last March 9, they
will return to me 15 business days, so it means maybe last week of this month
I will receive it. I will let you know.
Regarding how long the visa will imm. give us, it depends when you did your medical like mine
my medical done was July 9 2010, so it mean they will give me a visa stamped until july 9 2011 to land in canada.

Hi folks,
when I checked my application in cic website "check application status"
This is they said: "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.
do you know what is this guys? I sent our passport last March 3, 2011. I feel nervous this time I dont know
what does it means.
Posted by bobinus
23 Mar 2011 #28
I think that's an official language. I have seen exact same kind of line on USCIS cases.
I guess they stamped you visa and mailed or about it email your passport so they are saying that decision has been made which must be positive in my sense.
Did you try tracking your return self address envelop that you sent for returning your passport? I am assuming you sent return envelop otherwise passport will be returned via normal mail and will take longer in the mail.

Don't be nervous. That was the same message I saw, before my passport came in the mail. Let me be the first person to say Congratulation!
