For candidates with no medical problems or criminal record, this means that either they mailed already passport request for visa stamping or will do so shortly.

Can anybody tell me how long it takes to get passport back?

2-6 weeks. Better to go in person if you live in Uk (faster and safer)

May be due to computing issues. Please check again after a few days.
They may also have decided to do additional checks. Happenned to me: they requested passport in July, then e-mailed me that they need additional checks and I should wait for a new passport request. But my ECAS was always "in process". So I believe yours is just a computer error.
