Shekhar: I applied via an agent FirstMigration so they would be paying on my behalf.... which means I never come to know when the money is debited.... in fact i am very nervous as my initial application was returned when I last expected the biometric letter in Jan.... They said they couldn't take the money ... rascals..... wasted a month...

from this date you need to consider, as per my followup... you can expect your biometric letter beginning of next week. (monday/teusday)

08 Feb 2012 #15
Well

Initial application
Application Sent 21 Dec 2011
Reference no received 11 Jan 2012
Application Returned: Rendered INVALID due to them having issues with taking fees.: 16 Jan 2012

They said the issuing bank rejected the payment, but First migration said they contacted the bank and HSBC has confirmed there was no attempted payment transaction so they have not rejected.... Not sure what exactly happened there but I had to suffer.

Application Re-sent: 18 Jan 2012

Reference no received: 27 Jan 2012
Reference no letter dated 23 Jan 2012

Does anyone know why does UKBA again asks to go for biometric as we had all given biometric at the time of getting the initial visa and finger prints are going to remain the same!
This justs makes the already slow process further slower!

Can you only book the biometric at PEO after receiving Biometric invite? As somewhere (on trackitt forums) I read you can book biometric if you have the reference number which I believe comes within a week of applying.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

@Sekhar - You can try calling ukba no 0870 606 7766 (Select biometric enrolment enquiries option) and ask if your details have been uploaded in their system. I tried calling and I was told when details are uploaded in the system, that time biometric letter is auto generated and sent in the post.
It would take around 8-10 mins for the call to get connected to some person.
Until they say application has been uploaded, no point in expecting the letter to arrive!

Hi Sekhar ..I've sent again to ur yahoo id.

They had the audacity to say some cases are dealt with quickly.... you get the letters within 7 days of applying.... What a Blatant Lie.....

Hi Sekhar, Sorry to bother you with a silly question. Just to confirm on the Biometrics letter that you have received from UKBA. Does it had a barcode in it. Because I have heard the letters received by few forum members with dependents does not come with the barcode option. Can you also confirm if an individual receives the letter and unfortunately doesn't have a barcode in it and it states the biometrics can only given at PEO. In this case can he carry the letter received to post office and give the biometrics even when the barcode isn't there in the letter or is it not possible. Please do advise. Your response would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Sekhar for your response and what if you the letter received doesn't come up with the Barcode in it. In this case even though I'm the single applicant can I still approach any of the participating post office with the letter or would they be in a position to help me or should I need to book the PEO appointment as there isn't any Barcode in the letter

if you go directly to post office, they wont accept and they will suggest you check with UKBA, better you call UKBa and ask, see what they suggest you.

Hello every one & specially those who have DEPENDENTS.....
I have rcvd Biometric invitation letter today(29 FEB) dated on 24 FEB with different case reference numbers for myself and my wife(depedent).
Both of the letters had barcodes and we just walked in to a listed post office mentioned in the letter and gave the biometrics....I paid £16.20 for each biometric and it is metioned in the letter i rcvd that the fee is going to increse to £19.20( each) from 01 March 2012.
What I incur from this is that it all depends on the case worker and what is mentioned in the letter we get.....(Nothing like no postal service for dependents).
So now I've done my part and the ball is in their court.Fingers crossed...

IT SUCKS THAT AFTER PAYING A HUGE AMOUNT OF FEE,UKBA IS SENDING LETTERS THROUGH 2 CLASS POST...THATS THE REASON I RCVD MY LETTER AFTER 5 DAYS OF SYSTEM GENERATED DATE.SEEMS UKBA IS NOT SERIOUS ABOUT POSTAL APPLICATION...FINALLY IF WE WANT TO STAY IN UK WE CAN'T Q UKBA!!!!ALL THE BEST EVERY ONE.

29 Feb 2012 #75
@ vtindia

Congrats .. For some reason I feel you are a bit lucky .. Atleast you have received letters with Barcode in it .. Becos the letter which I have received doesn't had a barcode in it and had no option than to wait for the PEO slot to available to register my Biometrics. Atleast they gave you an option to register you Biometrics in some participating postoffice and that too with the dependant. All the best to you

All - I spoke to UKBA as I am waiting for my Biometrics Letter. According to customer care representative; possibility of a person getting a Biometric Appointment in POST Office VS going to PEO office depends on the area he/she resides. She mentioned that UKBA has tie up with some local post offices and it entirely depends on that. So this means that it has no dependency on Dependants/Non-Dependants.

hello sekhar165, did you not include a covering letter from the bank to confirm that the bank statements were geniune when you submitted?
because if you include a covering letter from d bank, they are not supposed to request for stamped bank statement again. you do either one of the two.
i.e a covering letter or stamp all pages.
Posted by vikastaneja
07 Mar 2012 #80
Hi Sekhar Hi Cityman

Is this (stamped bank statement) a requirement mentioned in the tir1 general guidance document. As I cannot find this anywhere.
I have also send the bank documents without any stamping and havent heard anything yet. Could you tell me if I should expect a similar mail from home office? If so I will arrange for the stamped statements in advance. Thanks.
Posted by vikastaneja
07 Mar 2012 #81
Got the answer:
Personal bank statements showing the
payments made to the applicant: Bank
statements provided must be on offi cial
bank stationery, and must show each of
the payments that the applicant is claiming.
If the applicant wishes to submit electronic
bank statements from an online account
he/ she should also provide a supporting
letter from the bank on company headed
paper confi rming that the documents
are authentic. Alternatively an electronic
bank statement bearing the offi cial stamp
of the bank issuing the statements will
be accepted. This stamp must appear
on every page of the statement. For
the purposes of this guidance an online
bank account is one that operates solely
over the internet and sends their bank
statements to their customers electronically
(for example over the internet or via email).

07 Mar 2012 #82
@Sekhar & all, can you clarify me in your UKBA email...did they ask you to get attestation/stamp by your bank issued standard monthly original paper statements? are you sure is it mandatory for even original bank statements? i think the stamp is required if your statements are issued electronically( over the inernet or email).
Can you clarify me?

Hi Sekhar,
but thats even more annoying. I assume that the bank statements you are referring to are on bank letter head and not an online print.
If thats the case then you have provided the covering letter as an additional source of information. As on the guidance they have only asked for covering letter when you provide online statements.
I think since they have lots of applications they are unnecessarily delaying these tire 1 postal applications.

Hi sekar165, you did the right thing by supporting ur bank statement with a letter from d bank. I know that the letter from bank many not really say
" this bank statement is AUTHENTIC but would say something similar like" the informations on the statement are correct as the original"
The incompetent and on-the-job training robot case worker who does not understand the tier1 general guidance before him nor have ever study it
is looking for the word " this bank statement is AUTHENTIC" He should be suspended and go behind bars. Thieves, it takes them 2days to take applicants's
money for application fees but takes them almost 50days to issue biometrics invitation letter and also looking for unnecessary excuses to delay genuine applications

Sekar165, just send them what they av requested for...

I wish all of us with finger crossed best of LUCK

Hi Shekhar thats bad... I know the UKBA requirement states you need stamp etc... but banks wont do that most of the times...
If you have your original statements use those and even if you are missing some months or days ..get the bank to issue duplicates for those.. In this scenario they know you have already proved that the account is your etc... I had to provide statements on HSBC letter head for the last month but they did not sign or stamp.... I provided originals for all other months.

I have got my biometric letter yesterday generated on 3rd of Feb. Will be getting it done today evening now. My fees was debited on 24th so i was epecting it to arrive only after you had got yours. But seems like it on case to case basis. As my bankstatements were also without any bank stamp. Hope they dont raise any issue for me for this stamp afterwards.

Also the post that ukba sends is it recorded signed for?
