@karabind, sujitk, ssk114,

I am in the similar situation. Can you tell me how things worked out in your cases? Did you stay in India for some time? Thanks

YSChary....
I went to india for 2 months that time. Got approval before my H1B Max out date. So came back to USA and applied I-140 in premium and approved in 12 days. With that I-140, applied H1B in premium and got it in 1 week. Whats your situation?

@sujitk, you mean you got your I-140 approved and filed your H1 ext (received the receipt) as well, before your last day. Thanks for the info.

@ssk114, In my case, my 6th year H1B expires on 25th April,2016. Perm PD is Oct 15th 2015. Hopefully if I get my perm approved around last week of March 2016, I feel I can pull this off. (Employer ready for premium process but the paralegal in my office takes her sweet time to finish her work. She is the one who messed up my GC). Earlier my Employer sent me to work in a diff country to recapture H1 days. I hope they send me again if it gets worse.

Thats definitely a good option. If you can work from there for couple of months (until u get the approval) and come back for I-140 processing.
Make sure to have all the required documents for I-140 before hand. Attorneys will come back and ask for a different formats (your exp certificates). So ask them in-advance about the format. All the best.

Yes i got approved I140 , a week before last date , and lawyer immediately filed H1B extension.
I did not get receipt, but H1B extension, acknowledgement you get in 2 days , that is good enough for you to continue.
