Hello ,
I applied for my H4 Ead extension standalone and mailed the package on August 5th, 2021. So far I have not received e-notification/email, sms nothing that it has reached. How long did it take for you to get notified that its received?
Please let me know this! Thanks

OK thank you. I sent my application(standalone) on my own and mailed it to lockbox(phoenix) location. Its already a month, still waiting, I have no details on whether its received, my receipt number, nothing. :(

thats a substantial amount of time. i am unaware of a lockbox option in CA, so can't really say if lockbox could be a reason for the delay. i hope you get it soon. if you ask around in the forum here, maybe folks may know of a way to reach out to USCIS and ask for more information.

Yeah lockbox is only at two places Phoenix and Texas. I did reach out to users that have filed at Phoenix. Yeah waiting! Mine is going to expire Dec 31, 2021, I have a feeling I cannot continue working :( :(

i saw this message on the USCIS website :

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, USCIS is experiencing delays in issuing receipt notices for some applications and petitions filed at a USCIS lockbox facility. For more information, see the USCIS Lockbox Updates web alert.

They have mentioned some steps here to reduce the processing time : https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-lockbox-updates

I believe these were the texts you were referring to. i can only hope you get it on time. Maybe they will expedite processing these cases.

I actually have applied late, as i misread the general instructions on one of my previous receipts and assumed that i would get the automatic 180 day extension. This is the only time i tried to do this renewal on my own, and really messed up my timeline. I should have sent my application in May as my EAD will expire first week of Nov. Eventually, i went with an attorney.

Long story short, i am mentally prepared to lose my job and am making preparations to transfer my work responsibilities to others. I did find that USCIS takes about 1 year to process such cases, so it's a game of waiting now.

i hope things turn out for the better for you, good luck.

Heya, thanks!
Yeah unfortunately we are all in the same boat. I too went ahead and filed on my own, but looks like filing through attorney is the best way.
Since you said that you eventually filed through attorney, May I borrow some tips from you?

I am planning to file again through attorney, but how do I withdraw the case before? Did you do something like this ? Any tips would help

i am not sure what to do in this scenario, i have never filed on my own. if you want to file again, best option would be to reach out to the attorney, they should be able to guide you. i reached out to my spouse's company's attorney and asked them to file for me.

Did you file along with h4 extension concurrently or standalone? What is the current status of your application?

I applied stand-alone since my spouse

I applied stand alone since my spouse company said they cannot apply as bundled application. I have mailed my application on Aug 9th to Phoenix lockbox location and have not reviewed any sms or email or mail so far. We will wait another 10 days and reapply through attorney directly.

My EAD case number is WAC21 325 xxxxx I have applied on 8/23/2021.

Other applications that are getting approved now are WAC21 901 xxxxx and are applied around same time as mine.

Anyone know why my case number is different?, specially 3xx not 9xx. confused with this.
