The approval itself took a longer time than expected. I filed my application in January 2014 and did not hear back until July-by which time my application was out of the normal processing time. I then called USCIS to file a service request over the phone. Following that, in about 2 weeks (around August 6th) I got an email saying that I should hear back within the next 60 days. I did not hear back anything until Sept 29th so called USCIS again. After talking to the immigration officer, it was mentioned that my application was put up for review with an officer on Sept 22nd and that it takes 30 days after that to make a decision so I should hear back by Oct 22nd. Shortly after that call, I got an email from my lawyers saying that my I-140 was approved and the status on the USCIS website also showed "post-decision activity". Hopefully, the I-485 process will not be so long. Good luck to the rest who are still waiting. It will be over soon.
