We requested Senator's office to send a letter to USCIS about the status of the case. On 31st May, USCIS responded to the letter saying they are working on the case. On June 1, the case was approved.

Thanks for teh update. My lawyer advised me that ~8 months is expected processing time. Not sure if political environment s causing deays. I might consider upgrading to PP when I reach the 8 month mark.

When we filed in June 2016, I was expecting a decision in 6 months. But it is certainly taking longer these days. I am also thinking about upgrading to PP.

Education: PhD in Chemical Engineering (2011)
Number of publications : 8 (Highest Impact factor =11 , lowest impact factor = 3.3)
Number of book chapters = 2
Citations = 170 at the time of submission (now it is over 220 )
Number of Patents = 1
Total Number of research articles reviewed = 22 (Mostly for a journal with impact factor 10)
