Hi SuperCanuck,

Yes, our cases are very similar. I certainly hope we'll be approved soon. Fingers and toes crossed!

Did you traveled with AP? I did last Christmas, and I had to wait quite a bit at the immigration booth. I am reluctant to do the same this year...

Mirandolina,

No, I am in my 4'th year of H1B, so I don't use AP. H1B is very hassle free. They just ask a couple of questions.

The only slight problem I had was when my first 3 years of H1B was about to expire in 30 days and the border guard seemed a bit concerned but he let us through anyway.

Do you regret having moved to the U.S. given what is happening with the economy and everything? Canada looks good sometimes.

This was a smart move to be on H1B. I was on TN1 for a couple of years, and then moved to EAD, which is a lot riskier.
Sometimes I miss Canada, I still have a lot of friends there, and some family. The economical situation here is scary these days, I hope we will get through it ...

SuperCanuck,

I really hope I'll get mine approved soon. I'm from Toronto, and you?

Mirandolina,

I'm from Montreal.

Don't worry. You are EB2 and from Canada which means your Priority Date is always current.

If you want, you can take an Infopass appointment and speak to an IO. They will tell you if your Name Check has cleared, etc. I spoke to a very nice one in early October 2008 and she told me that I would probably have my Green Card in "2 or 3 months". She was right.

They have a lot of info. that they can give you if they are nice.
