Why was it denied? Was it I-140 or I-485 that got denied?

both i140/i1485 got denied the first time last year.

Were you previously on a J-1 visa that *was* subject to the 2-year foreign residency requirement -- or -- were you *not* subject to the 2-year foreign residency requirement, but USCIS requested proof of the exemption/waiver? Thanks.

i was subject to the 2 year foreign residency requirement but i filed a waiver and was granted.
