Card was produced on August, 2, but I only got in September because I was out of country for that long! This concludes my 8 year journey for Green Card. God has been good and I pray that He would bless those who are waiting with one as well!

my I-140 was approved on 04/16. FP notice sent on 04/23. I am planning to go in earlier than the scheduled date, but not sure whether it will work or not.

Congratulations!!! Could you share your experience....what did you say for the early appointment? Is the next step approval ad card production?

Thanks.

I just told them I could not keep my scheduled appointment due to having other plans that day. The office was empty and I had no trouble getting it done. He simply agreed to do it. I hope the next step will be card production.

Looks like we will have to wait out the average 50 days wait period seen in most cases for approval....you and I have the same PD. Keeping my fingers crossed and waiting. Yours should be approved before mine I am guessing

There is no telling whose case will be first to approve. To date, their approval logic has defied my understanding. I am still hoping, though... Lord, help my patience!

Well, I guess the waiting is now getting annoying!

looked like USCIS had stopped processing apr/10 cases because the cases being approved were primarily from mar, at least for EB2. Yesterday was a case from apr'10 that was approved (george08). Hopefully this will continue going forward.
keeping my fingers crossed.

There is no prediction whatsoever with USCIS on how they approve cases. It looks like cases submitted way after ours have been approved - go, figure!

I just noticed that there is no priority date on my I-485 receipt! Is there a priority date on your receipt and is it the same as the PERM PD?

Now that you asked, I tried to look for my I-485 receipt and I cannot find it - great! I know I got a copy of that from my lawyer, but where's the original? Gotta look for it. I did, however, find my PD which is PERM PD on my approved I-140 notice, so I guess PD is your PERM file date. One way or another, I doubt USCIS is really looking at anyone's PD in determining the sequence of applicant's review.

my lawyer just emailed me a copy of I-485 and I don't see PD on that either. After all, I don't think that matters really! Sometimes I regret the case went to TX, SRC appears to be behind LIN nowdays!

thanks for the reply. its true, there is no rhyme or reason as to how the cases are being processed. i just hope that is not the reason. at this point anything and everything seems relevant. hang in there

Have we missed the boat? Are our applications ones that have fallen by the wayside while others around us are/were approved? Is there a way to inquire about the case at USCIS? Sorry too many questions...just worried

Well, it's kind of sad to realize your case is not on the front lines of USCIS' agenda these days, but I guess we are not the only ones. I suspect we are in the slow/regular pool, or there may be that each officer has his load of cases and again we are being reviewed by a slow one. I recon it doesn't hurt to inquire USCIS about the status of your case, but I feel the answer will be the standard one - you are still withing the processing times for your application, so sit back and relax. I ain't got no desire to call these guys, honestly. If you do so, let me know, will just wait.......

I did a random case check by entering case #s in the proximity of mine and I noticed that the majority of I-485 filed on the same date as mine are still in the Initial Review phase with the message on the receipt similar to mine. However, I did notice a few approved cases that were filed on that date and most of them were approved within 2 weeks of the file date. I have no explanation to that "cherry picking" and have no idea what to expect at this time. I am nearing 100 days now!

On Trackitt, sorting by USCIS received Date shows a depressing trend. There are a few cases (including mine) that are stuck while others have gotten approved. Have you considered the TSC streamline email? It seemed to have worked in a few cases.
Also, approvals for April, '09 submissions have stopped the past couple of weeks due to the '05 cases being current. I hope they restart processing EB2 ROW current cases before Aug 1. I saw one or two approvals yesterday. But then its all a game. I wonder what the guys who filed in Feb/Mar '09 and still waiting are going through.

I do see that a lot of EB2I are now being approved. Is it what is holding us up? Some people who applied on the same date as I did got approved, so I am not sure what's going on with that.

TSC processing time has improved by .4 since the last update, so if I hear nothing from them by the same date next month, I will be calling them.

I am pretty sure that is what is holding us up. If you notice all of the EB2ROW approvals that have come recently have been on or around 1 July. Since then EB2I cases are being processed. Also people who applied the same date and were approved were most likely approved before 7/1.

Nebraska processing time has changed to 10.1 as of last update 5/31! Interestingly I thought NSC was faster and processing more cases compared to TSC. Strange how USCIS works...

Any idea how long it might take to clear the EB2I pile? I hope our application review/approval process won't get past the processing time period of 4 months reported in today's Processing Time release.

No idea, approvals for EB2I are still happening so no telling when EB2ROW will pick up. Scary thought if we go beyond the processing time.

Will it do any good to get infopass before 4 months is up, as I am leaving the country next week for almost 2 months?

24 Jul 2010 #29
like you said earlier, the standard answer is all you may get, but then it is worth a shot. the other option is to send the streamline email to TSC. I am so bummed that I have given up

I seriously suspect my case has not been even looked at since the FP notice release. No LUDs and no RFEs. Unfortunately, I will be out of country when 4 months will be up to call USCIS to inquire, but may have my attorney do that for me, though.

My case is similar to yours...TSC...Applied April 27
I saw a LUD on my I-485, but no status change. I called up USCIS. All they said is that everything is fine and it will take another 1-2 months. They were able to confirm my name and FP status, but nothing more. Hang in there, it is very close.

Hello!
I'm from Moldova too, and would like to ask you something regarding your GC story, ok?
I will write in English not to spoil the style of this thread :)
You said it took you generally 8 years to get GC, so, you were and H1B worker first, right?
I just want to understand - it is worth going to the USA and wait so much time, with your wife
sitting at home because of H4 non-working visa, or it is better to go to Canada in 2 years with
permanent resident status obtained immediately?

My journey to Green Card took 8 years, because I first came to the US in the J-1 status (exchange visitor) as a medical resident. I could not have gone to Canada, because it was not and it is not accepting foreign medical residents, so Canada was not an option for me. I stayed in the J-1 status for 3.5 years until I graduated from my residency program. I applied for H-1 at that time. By the way, my wife was able to work in the J-2 status, so she was not a home stay wife. Anyway, I stayed in the H-1 status for 3 years to complete the required 3 years of the medically underserved area service that is a must if I didn't want to move back to my home country (it's the current law for J-1 holders) and then I worked on PERM (~10 months) to be able to apply for the adjustment of status that took 110 days to complete. So, adding all of the above makes ~ 8 years. I'm not sure who you are and where you are and what your goal is, therefore, I don't know what to say. If I had a chance to choose between the US and Canada, I'd choose the US from all the standpoints, but it's my opinion. Nevertheless, after having lived in the US for 9 years, I feel no more happy than I was in Moldova. It's just a different struggle. In fact, I've returned back to Moldova every single year (except for one when my daughter was born) and I am looking forward to 2012 when I hopefully get my sabbatical and, Lord willing, move back to Moldova for more than just 2 months of my regular annual vacation.
