Why did you need a second finger printing?

Actually I don't know why. This is my wife's case and it was in 'initial review' stage even after I've received my GC. So my lawyer created USCIS service ticket and after that we received invitation for another fingerprinting. As there is no RFE it looks like USCIS lost her fingerprints first time...

How long did you wait before having your lawyer create a USCIS service ticket?

Did your lawyer charge a lot for that?

I am in the same situation in that I got my GC a few weeks ago but my wife's is still showing as initial review status even though we filed at the same time and took finger prints at the same time.

We waited 2 weeks after the date I've received my GC and then my lawyer created service ticket. After about 3 weeks after ticket was created status of my wife's case changed to 'Acceptance' (step back from 'Initial Review') and it's still in this status...

All lawyer expenses are covered by company so I'm not sure about charges for that.

Any updates on your dependent's case? Company lawyer is taking precious old time (almost 2 weeks so far) to respond to me. Wondering if I should just call the Info Line myself to see if I can have the L1 or L2 create a ticket for me. Any suggestions?

Nope, there are no updates on my wife's case.

You can definitely call L2 support yourself and create a ticket. I saw phone numbers listed in this forum...

I called and they were not very helpful...wouldn't pass me on to L2 support. Attorney said the USCIS misplaced the form where she is allowed to ask them about my case so they are refiling that form to see if they can get some updates.

Bad news is that today USCIS has introduced cut off date for EB2 ROW cases which is January 2009. I'm afraid that could delay dependent cases approval for many months :(

Yep I saw that too. Gulp. Not good news at all for either one of us. My wife's H-4 is no longer valid now since I have my GC so she has to go year to year on an EAD/AP combo card which is not as good as the 2.5 years she had left on her H-4 visa.

Did you guys get a response to the service ticket you opened yet? It's looking unlikely that my wife's case is going to get resolved with little time left in June. Looks like it will be past October at this point.

No, USCIS didn't provide any useful information on my wife's case. I'm afraid we should wait at least till October...

So given the October visa bulletin that came out today, what is your lawyer recommending in terms of opening an SR (like when)?

They've opened another SR almost 2 months ago but still there is no answer from USCIS.

Wow you got the last one. Congrats! Any tips on what you did as I still haven't heard anything on my wife's case?

Thanks! Actually I did nothing since last SR. I was going to ask lawyers to open new one this week but then I received a notification...
Good luck to you!
