I had a quick question and thanks in advance.

I am from Nepal. In Visa Bulletin for July 2012 where the priority date for EB2 became January 1, 2009. My labor was filed on October 25, 2011 and approved on February 1, 2012. My I-140, EAD, Travel Document and I-485 were all filled on May 1, 2012. I have received my I-140, EAD and Travel Document.

My question is my H1-B 6 year renewal is complete in October, 2012. Should I renew? How does movement of priority date affect my case for I-485 although my application was filed before the backlog started? Also my previous company had started my green card using EB3 and its priority date was October 20, 2008 can I request USCIS to capture my old EB3 priority date and ported it to my current green card filing?

noremains,
I would suggest consulting with your attorney regarding whether to renew your H1B or not after getting your EAD. There are several threads on this topic in different forums. However, you should have ported your priority dates from old EB3 regardless of whether you were current or not when you filed your I-485. I had a similar situation where my date was current using new EB2 date but my company's attorney suggested to port old priority date. Since you filed your AOS when your dates were current, porting of old EB3 would have been a better option because you would still be current as of now. I believe you can still request to port your old priority date to your case. This is just my opinion. Good luck to you!
