Hi nycgwapz, congratulations on your approval too! I have the same events as you described and nothing more. I am not worried about the tracking # at this point. I mean, it would be good to have it, but I expect to receive the card this week. If not, I will call USCIS next Monday, May 13. Hope this helps!

Hi! Thanks for the good wishes all along, finally everything fell in place. The interview questions were about our jobs, name of owner of my company, when and where did we get married, how did we meet, when did we decide to get married, my daughter's birth certificate, how much do we earn, if we have a joint account, what status am I on now. It seems that my attorney never sent my latest I-94, I showed original and submitted a copy of that. Gave a copy of the apt lease also. In between some questions about my military background were discussed. Then the officer gave me a letter stating that noting else is required and I will receive a decision in the mail. He walked us out to the door, I had a feeling that I will be approved. Half hour later I got the email about card production and 1 hour later the status changed to "we have registered this customer's new permanent resident status". Everything turned out for the best, now we have plans to visit Russian and India. Stay in touch and if you visit NJ then you have friends to meet. Regards, Capt GC.

Hey UkrGal, I have a few questions about I485, did you attached a cover letter "presenting your case" with I485 or just sent the forms and the necessary documentation asked on the instructions (EVL, copy of passport, birth certificate, I693, I140 approval notice, etc.). My question would be "why do I need an attorney for this phase?" if there is no cover letter needed. If I140 is approved, I have a job(as research assistant - student 50% appt time though) and it is still open for me for the next school year, I'm medically "clean", clean criminal history, current salary is over 125% Federal poverty line, the answer is no to all I485 questions about questionable intent, do I have any risk of them denying it? Do you have any advice from your experience?

Thank you.

Azimm, contact me by email rybosoma at yahoo.com and we can discuss everything. Cover letter is not required but I had one, really simple. You dont need an attorney, save your hard earned money.

Hi! Just thought of asking how is the "Green" life treating you. We just got back from a month's trip to India, planning to go to Russia in 2014.

Hey Captgc! Thanks for remembering about me! All is good on my end, work work and more work! :) I didnt yet have a chance to go anywhere, guess this is not my priority at the moment. Tough to get a long enough vacation, but I will go... Green life is definitely easier, no need to worry about the stinky visas, H1B status and the like. Anyway, I am glad you and your family are having a great time! Have fun in Russia! ;-)

Hi UkrGal, how are you doing? I have been reading about the unrest in Ukraine and wanted to know if you and your family are safe.

Hi Captgc, thanks for remembering about me. First of all, I am in the US so I am safe :))) Just kidding. My family is safe as well. They avoid the hot spots, and other than that it's pretty much the normal life elsewhere. When I say normal, I mean there is no immediate life threat. However, obviously life cannot be normal if the situation in the country is like that. It is very saddening to see what is going on over there. I hope it calms down soon, one way or another...

Dear UkrGal,

May you kindly help me.

I have approved EB2-NIW I-140. I am planning to apply I-485

May you tell me if I should submit all or any of he following

Form I-864, Affidavit of Support. Do I need to submit this along with my wife and children application package for I-485?

Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, (Do I need to submit this too?)

Do I need to submit Bank statement?

Please note that I have approved EB2-NIW I-140 and I am primary applicant for I-485 and employed in University.

I will be very thankful of you receiving your help.

Hi Guidemeniw, congrats on your I40-NIW approval! I remember I struggled with those affidavits too. Here is what I recall.

Both affidavits are to make sure your dependents will not become public charges in the US. If they do, US Govt may sue you to recover the losses. I-864 is legally binding though, and is more complex. I-134 is simple and is mainly used for finacee visas, and is not legally bidning. I filed I-864 for my husband because he had no income in the US. I also attached my three most recent paystubs, three most recent bank statements, and three most recent tax returns. If you have other means of legal income you want USCIS to consider (rental income, stocks etc), attach proof of that too. I think that you would need to file this form for all dependents you are filing for separately. Please note your total income plus assets must exceed the 125% of powerty level for the size of your household in order for this form to be valid.

If your wife works or has her own legal income, you may include that information too (but not required, unless you don't meet the 125% poverty level without her). Read the directions on the form I-864 for details on how to do that, as I am not sure. I hope this answers your questions and good luck with your application!
