I just opened RFE when TSC dates were current, did not do any congressional inquiry i think that helped. They wanted my status from 2002 to 2014 so had to show paperwork for that.

Any luck as yet ??? did you open a SR?

@ Babakhaan- Last SR response was that it's under extended review. Opened 4 SRs so far and everything points to pending background check. I may open another SR next week but I don't lot of hopes with their response even at this time. Seems that I am stuck in this black hole with no ray of hope emanating from anywhere :(

No updates yet. Even my EAD/AP renewal application has been pending for more than 100 days. Not sure whats going on? I should just stop thinking about this case

You should file an SR immediately and then follow it by an ombudsman case against your EAD/AP renewal application. They take quick action on EAD/AP unlike I-485. See, I came from TN and I am working for my sponsor on EAD and cannot afford to lose a day of work because EAD is late. You can file SR against I-765 after 75 days.

I filed the SR for EAD/AP on 75th day. They came back 15 days later giving generic response and wait for 60 days. I called again and this time they initiated a request for expedited processing as I have planned travel next week and I need AP. This time they came back asking for supporting documents which I provided them right away 5 days ago but still now updates. I am just losing my hopes here. IF EAD/AP renewal is so painful then forget about getting ours 485 in next year or so. So far it seems that I am up against a brick wall. My visa category is current but still no movement after 14+ months.

Oh man, this is scaring me :( I better bug my company lawyer to get started on this. What supporting docs are they asking for?!! After the SR response, you should've gone to the Ombudsman and explained the situation that your income depends on EAD. My experience with the first EAD/AP was that I did a phone SR after 75 days and explained to L1 officer that I could not travel to Canada for holidays to visit my parents if I didn't get this in time. 48 hours after the SR, EAD/AP got approved.

Please keep us posted of your EAD/AP renewal. Did you contact congressman/senator or ombudsman yet? I am applying for it on Aug 12th. My plan is to file a phone SR on the 76th day just like I did last time. If it doesn't go far, I'll attack them from both senator and ombudsman's side.
Are you on H1 or L1 at least to continue your employment? I am not (came from TN) and this EAD/AP is really crucial for me. I am bugging sponsor's lawyer to get it going. If they are too lazy, I'll apply for it myself.

I did not contact congressman / senator on my EAD/AP renewal as my L-1visa is still valid for another so. Since I am not using EAD/AP therefore i am good without having EAD/AP at this time. But this is really frustrating that with two SRs the case is still pending beyond 100 days. My real concern is for 485 which is pending for more than 14 months. I have tried everything including Ombudsman, Congressman, Infopass and SR but so far nothing seems to be working out in my case.

I think you should go ahead with WOM at this point if EB1C is current. Do it before they retrogress EB1 ROW. I never thought they'd retrogress EB-2 ROW and see what happened. Do you have to use your sponsor's lawyer for WOM? I'll tell what quotes I've got for WOM. Fragomen is charging $7K up to settling outside the court and $1K for every court appearance. My sponsor is forcing me to use them. I got a $3500 quote for the exact same thing from Murthy who is the WOM guru and already based in the capital.
If you're still hesitant and want to wait longer, at least do your FBI and USCIS FOIA's to find out what exactly they're suspicious about your case. I am in that phase right now while waiting for PD. It takes a few months for FOIA.

Did you get your EAD/AP renewal? If not, did you go to your congressperson or file a case with ombudsman?

I went for infopass today and I was told that my background check is completed as of June 29th and the file with an officer since August. Funny thing is that when I went infopass last month (early September) I was told that my case is still pending due to background check and service request revealed the same thing. So if the background check was complete by June 29th then why did not tell me what before. Not sure to trust the conflicting messages. Also what's holding them to approve my case while my category has been current since day one. I am really very confused indeed.

Any updates? Ombudsman came back with an open ended time frame which is grounds for a WOM. I have sent USCIS a 30-day courtesy notice that I'll be filing a WOM if no movements by then.

No updates on my case yet, another SR raised and received another standard reply from them. I think i should also look into filling the WoM, it is so frustrating.

Let's keep each other posted if we go with WOM. I am fed up enough to cough up some serious money on this WOM thing.
stuckinforever: do you ever have any issues crossing the US-Canada border? I was harassed back in Bush era 3 times. They asked me for my Iranian passport which I don't have. Then they gave up on bugging me because I really don't have an Iranian passport. I think they can find that out from InterPol anyway. These days, border crossing has been pretty smooth for me even now that I use AP and have to go to secondary inspection. The AP thing never took more than 10 minutes. But I am starting to wonder if those Bush era harassment incidents have anything to do with this stupid background check.
