Anybody know how long would take for Iranians?

Hi, I only know of one case that got approved in about 15 months. The rest are all pending (1.5 year plus)
It would be nice if other Iranian friends can share their data so we get an estimate on how long the check name for Iranians take.

Hi guys, I just joined and I heard from my lawyer that now it takes 15 months (in average) to get approved (I485). As you may know according to new regulations India and china are the worst ones and other than that I do not have any idea. I applied 9 months ago for my I485 and still is pending.

GC want,
No, I meant in average 15 months for EB2. Actually I looked through all countries and categories (you can do that too). What I found is that (according to these data provided by people like you and me) in AVERAGE some countries like Romania are lucky ones and some like Russia and... are not. However, you can see that still there is a huge difference between applicant from the same country and same category and even from the same service center. I am following my green card from 2001 but I had to file again in 2005 because of...
In your case I definitely contact them (Texas Center). In their official web site they mentioned that if your file has past 30 days from recent processing time (which now is October 27, 2006) you can contact them. so do that first and let us know what they say!! Here is the web site: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=TSC

let us know and good luck

well whatever I have done obviously have not got me anywhere yet. One day I hear they are approving iranian cases, and one day I hear they put some countries cases on hold.
Regarding your question, yes I wrote to FL and got a letter from FBI that "it is still in process" but nothing after that. I am also in touch with a congressman office which follow my case every 4 months from USCIS. Last response from USCIS was contact us in Dec 2007 if you have not heard from us till that time.
And I am still waiting.

My dear Fellow Iraninas;
I like to go for a visit to my Mum and Dad back to Iran with my wife and little kid, I am holding the approved AP for both my wife and myself and my daughter is born here.

Now I am trying to find the best airline and port to go and come back, I do not want to face any hassel of explaining (especillay on my way back to here) to Airline ticket checkin people what is Ap and blah blah, I like a routh and airline to see the Ap and find by experience that I am allowed to get back.

Any help and sharing experience would be highly appreciated.

Make sure you check about the special registraion first, if you have done it before.

The main problem the airline had was that my kids did not have UK visa but my wife and I had it in our passports. Also the kids did not have Iranain visa since they were both in my my wife's passport. Thes were the cause of confusion for the airline when we were leaving US.
We went last year with United to UK and IranAir to Iran from Chicago. Coming back was no problem. In US they decided not to do anything with the special registraion.
My suggestion; don't try to explain until you are asked.

Thanks for your reply. But I am a bit confused:

My daughter is also added to her Mum Passport. Which means she is on dual citizenship, so no need for visa to Iran and on her way back she will use her US passport. So:

1- What is confusion for Airline (in US Exit port you mean?) how to sort this out?

2- If I go ahead through London then do I need transit visa? if so does the airticket agency can sort this out for us? What you suggest get a UK visa for my kid too or just flash her US pass?

Thanks for your time

Sorry for the confusion.

I believe you need a UK transit visa and the travel agency may get it for you.
Your daughter doens't need a UK visa since she is US citizen. We have the exact same situation as yours. US passport for kids, AP for us and the kids are in my wife's Iranian pass and we had UK transit visa.

It took a while for the United airline people to understand what is obvious for us. The guy was looking at the instructions on his computer and was confused if our paperwork was OK, but the supervisor was more familiar. They told me the airline is responsible to make sure you have all the necessary documents.

But coming back the AP was no problem.

Are you watching soft 485 LUDs through online login based case access that USCIS has through its web site. I have a similar long standing case and had a 485 soft LUD on 3/10/2008 and 3/11/2008. You can still go online, setup your account, and check the last date of 485 activity on your file.

Hi there,
After calling USCIS I got a letter (amonth latter) saying my case needs additional review which apparently many of other applicants got the same letter. I was wondering if you called them or you got the same respond.
