Discuss gcrut's I-765 USCIS Case

So the H4 was approved on 28th Sept and the H4EAD didn't change at all. We waited for a while and then raised an ER on Oct 1st. Not sure if that helped or not, but the status changed to "New Card Is Being Produced"

Congrats! Quick question, on your EAD card what is your valid from date? Is it the date you submit your application or they gave the date they approved your case?

A day after the previous EAD expires. It is a renewal.

That's great! My wife's work permit expired in July and we've been waiting since April. It means they might issue just like yours, a day after the previous EAD date. Thanks a lot. It's a big relief for us!

If it has already expired, then they might use the approval date. In my case approval date was < expiry date. Hence they used the day after.

In your case the expiry date is < approval date. So they would use that. Does it really matter to you as to what the date is on the card? Is she still wprking?

Unfortunately it really matters. She still works on her 180 days and we are getting close to the 180th days. If they approve the day we filled which it was before the expiration date, that'd be great. Otherwise she needs to quit soon.
