"Here are the sequence of events
1) Sept 24th --- I-140 approved
2) Sept 30th --- Opened SR requesting to approve my I-485 as it is beyond the normal processing times.
2) Oct 6th --- Got a response asking to wait for 90 days.
3) Oct 12th ---- Opened another SR with 2nd level customer support to link my I-485 with the new I-140
4) Oct 16th ---- Got a response for the 2nd SR that my I-485 is linked with I-140.
5) Nov 1st ---- sent an email to
[email protected] asking for the status on my 1st SR(as it has been 30 days since I opened the SR).
6) Nov 1st ---- Contacted congressman to follow up with USCIS and sent all relevant documents to the congressman's office
7) Nov 10th ---- Got a response from
[email protected] saying that my application is still under eb3 and my priority dates are not current.
8) Nov 10th ---- responded back to that email saying I am eligible for Eb2 and asking them why the system still shows I am under eb3 category.
9) Nov 11th ---- Contacted customer support again saying that my I-485 is supposed to link with new I-140 and it is not linked as per the email from
[email protected]. I was connected with 2nd level customer support person who created a new case requesting the tcs to approve my case as I have a new I-140 and my case is already preadjucated.
10) Nov 15th --- Went to local uscis office (infopass appointment) to find out why my case is still in eb3. The officer is very friendly and she mentioned she cannot see whether my case is under eb3 or eb2 and sent an email to texas service center informing them that my file should be under eb2 category. She did took the copies of my I-485 receipt notice and I-140 apporval notices.
11) Nov 15th --- After 1 hr from the infopass appointment, got CPO emails.
12) Nov 16th --- The status changed from CPO to decision(infact the decision says that my case is approved).
