Did they accept your SR ? as you filed expedite request before 75th day !

I did not receive any email regarding it. So I don't know at this stage.

I raised mine today by online because I can't wait another weekend to delay the response. It has been 80 days that I filed and 74 days that it was received.

I think we're on the same timeline. I filed an SR on day 73 cause 75 day is a Saturday (tomorrow). Still no news...

I just got off the phone with USCIS agent and I was told that my SR did not go through because the system automatically disregarded as it has not been at least 75 days since it was received.

yeah today i called USCIS to file SR they told me to wait for a one more day and then raise SR ..

Hi strange,

To raise a SR, you could call USCIS and tell the service representative that you want to raise a SR because it is pending more than 75 days. I just did but don't know whether it helps or not.

cr11sh, since you placed the SR today, did your expedite request ever yield anything?

@horst, nope. It looks like nothing good happened from expedite so far. I guess my next step would be to also contact the congressman.

I have raised service request on 25 and on 26 it was assigned to an officer , Still i dont have any update after that . Today is 81 day for me ..

My expedite request has been completed since Tuesday (placed one week ago Friday). I did get an email that it was forwarded for supervisory review....but since then nothing has happened. I am thinking abotu giving them a call today....but I wonder if they are able to see more than I can see on my screen at home :-D
I wrote an email to my congressman last week and updated him about the expedite request, too. Never got a response because probably hundreds of OPT applicants are currently doing the same.

look on the website of your congressman...mine has a form specifically made for these type of cases.

@horst: I believe they do not see what we see. Definitely try giving them a call. I will wait till 5PM EST and call them to ask what's up.

I have raised an SR last monday and still no update. Its been 97 days that my case is pending. Could any one please help how to proceed further ?. I am bit nervous . People are talking about congressman and expediting requests. Which category i should choose to make them expedite my process.

Did you try calling customer care and inquire about the status of your SR? You might want to do that.

@Dinesh: As rustum234 suggested, call USCIS first. Talk to them about the issue. Also, raise an expedite request if you haven't already. Let them know about the intensity of your situation. If nothing good happens from the call, contact your local congressman via call/e-mail. Hope this helps

I have called them today regarding the status of my SR. But they said it takes 30 days to get a response from the officer and asked me to wait. I wanted to raise an SR but i dont know which category will i fall into( loss of financial, military) for the expedite issue. What should i tell them regarding the reason for expeditition? Whats about congress man?

Cr11sh, whats your receipt number. Just curious since our application dates are so close. Mine is LIN 16-901-68333. I just want to see by what order an application number changes in a day or two. Thanks.

I did that calculation once. They receive about 2000 applications per day. Mine is LIN169017518x

Mine is LIN169014405X, received on 11/4. A colleague of mine is in the 33XXX range, received 11/2.

Mine is LIN 1690123XXX received on 29th oct, No change in my status yet. :(

My case recieved date is also 11/12. I made SR on 1/26 and then made expedite request on 2/1 which is forwarded to dept on 2/3. I have seen cases where people say expediting close to your 90 days window delay it further. Is that so?

frankly, I am not quite sure. I really hope that's not the case.

Hey Crish, how did you expedite? Under what criteria? My application has been pending for more than 93 days now. USCIS received mine on the 9th of Nov. I raised SR last Friday. I got a reply on monday saying that my application has been forwarded to a proper dept. for further review. I still haven't heard anything. Could you share with me how you expedited yours?

Hey OPT032, I called USCIS and requested them to expedite my case. I am actually incurring huge financial loss and told them the same. They took my request. After couple of days status changed to fwd'ed to prop dept. Then on 89th day I called up my local congressman's office and requested them to assist me in someway or the other. They raised a SR on my behalf. On day 90 I got a reply that it was being reviewed by an officer and on 91 it got approved. So, don't quite know which one helped. I would suggest do everything.

Hey Crish, one question? Did they ask for supporting documents when you requested an expedite? I expedited mine today based on financial loss.

@OPT032: No, they did not. I clearly explained to them why and how I am under a loss. Dont forget to call up congressman. They are very very helpful.

The expediting of a case allows it to be sent quickly to an officer for adjudication. However, your case is currently under review by an officer. We have notified the officer reviewing your case of your expedite request, however it is their discretion to grant the expedite. Please contact us again if you do not receive the document or other correspondence within the 30 day time frame.

May I know what explanation you gave without the documents. I have a family emergency and need to travel out of the country. I cannot show any documents for an expedite request. Do you have any idea on how to raise a request about this. My application received date is 2 Nov and I don't have any updates on this.

Has your status changed to "card mailed"?

@optuser6: sorry for your situation. I would suggest, contact your local congressman and explain your situation in detail and seek for help. My case was personal financial loss.
