Discuss idliman's OPT USCIS Case

Hello Idliman.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.Well I had not received any kind of updates from USCIS untill today.Because elapsed time went over 90 days i contacted my school and they sent an e-mail to VSC asking for updates. Reply is(to my school regarding my case)“This case is currently under review. If you do not receive any information from us with in 30 to 45 days, please contact us again.”
Hoping for the best. or this time it will be my second job offer which i would loose.
Thanks for your concern. I would like to share this piece of news with you (sadly though)which i am sure not many students are aware of... USCIS has stopped issuing Interim EAD cards to students as of Sept 1 2006.

I am sorry that it is taking a long time for you to get the OPT card. Don't give up on the Interim EAD. If you read the comments of other people in multiple cases, you can see that some of the local offices and some local offices do not know about the interim cards. They still issue them. You might still have a chance of getting the interim EAD. But it will depend strongly on your luck on that day. Read the stories of others in the comments in this site and also on http://boards.immigrationportal.com/.

I have some more disturbing news. I am sharing this because i dont know how to make it public so that other students can also read, may you do.
I went for my Interim EAD card regradless of the online info on the same.
And see what i found out. The Infopass office told me that i have an RFE PENDING since jan 16th. But no information was passed to my school or to me,. My online status till now tells"Case received and Pending". My school has no records of an RFE request from Vermont Center. I have called VSC several times going through the usual automated chain of case status and even they never mentioned anything. After finding out bout it from Infopass i called again but now with the RFE chain...and guess wt.. they say"Yes u have an RFE pending since Jan 16th".....
I lost 100 days. just because the informartion did not get through to my school or to me about it.I'll loose another 90 days worst case once they receive the response to the RFE....because my 90 day clock will start again after they have the RESPONSE from me....USCIS is all screwed up...
those of you who have crossed 90 days of wait time .. please make sure you dont have an RFE about which you are not informed....
